President Donald Trump on Saturday threatened to end bailouts for members of Congress and insurance companies if lawmakers don't pass a new health care bill in the near future.
If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon, Trump tweeted.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said Trumps warning is a clear threat to take away health care from members of Congress and their staff.
Murphy then asserted that the president does have the power to cut off health care for leg branch employees & crater exchanges. He then added, I would argue this is a very serious moment.

Yes and the Senator hails from the same state as Aetna and Cigna, two of the biggest health insurance companies ( Connecticut ).
Great comment, Vigil!
He’s not taking anything away. They can go on 0bamacare like everyone else.
My, Murphy really is the perfect poster boy for both the Democrats and their dear, sweet, well meaning programs.
Trump trolls Congress critters just as well as he does CNN critters.
“Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said Trumps warning is a clear threat to take away health care from members of Congress and their staff.”
Everyone just sit back and take a moment to let that sink in.
I am glad you posted.. I thought he said hundreds of thousands, cause that would be like half, right?
GO TRUMP GO! Just DO IT!
Now is the time to get congress and staff out of the wagon and pulling with the people.
Give them a real taste of O’Care. Then tell them you will repeal for all except them and they have to buy thru the exchanges one year for every week a clean repeal Bill is not on his desk.

POTUS is not cutting anything off. He’s enacting a change. Remember? The audacity of change is supposed to be good thing. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.... and all that other drivel...
I hope President Trump does it!! Do IT DONALD!!!
This is Day One stuff, people. Get them on the same plan as America.
Actually, the so called bailout for congress places them in the position of most of America that get health insurance at work. Employers provide the insurance.
In the case of the Congress, the employer is the government.
No ! he isn't !
Trump is saying that the response from Congress doesn't represent the will of the people
and that he is willing to eliminate ..
More winning!
The exemption list is quite long and not just congress. Unions muslims and a host of others got exemptions too.IIRC.
Start by taking away their staffs. That would end an awful lot of unnecessary crap right there.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It was because of Congressional staff that this exemption was carved out by the Obama Administration. The law requires Congress and their staff to be on Obamacare. When ‘the staff’ actually tried to sign up and realized what the cost would be, there was all sorts of whining, crying and threats to leave & join the private sector. Rather than have a major “brain drain” (what the revolt was called at the time), Obama et al figured out a way to game the system and have the taxpayers pay 70% (at least) of the premiums for Congress and their staff by declaring them a ‘small business’ on the DC Exchange. Some Congressmen are refusing the subsidy (declaring it illegal & it is), others have the required Obamacare, but don’t use it, etc. It’s the staff who are going to get hit hardest if Trump rescinds their little deal ... and he can easily do it. SO - ‘taking away their staffs’ would hurt Congress critters .... taking away the carve out will hurt the staffs the most & might result in a lot of resignations .... sounds like a ‘two-fer’!

PROOF that CONGRESS puts their PERKS before the PEOPLE.
