Good morning and happy Lord’s Day to all my friends here. I have missed participation although in past it is very spotty due to my lack of wifi and my energy to go out and seek it.
Lucy my “new - old lady” dog and kitten Charmy have been about 2 hours south in Amish country with a friend while I was doing the MD “thing” in hospital. ill pick them up Wednesday
For Medical updates as so many have PMd me for info... I KNEW going in what the issue was. Of course they do not recognize my virtual MD credentials so did run the 5 million dollars worth of tests. I shared I felt I need blood 2-3 units and one or two of potassium. Guess what the results were after 5 days? Bingo 3 units of blood & 2 of potassium. NO OTHER ISSUES FOUND. I actually could use 3 or more units of blood but once your level is over 8 you are not permitted more. My last Hemoglobin reading was 8.1. I suppose if you were very wealthy & paid cash it could happen
I do have profound anemia of unknown cause (they did try).. they believe I am not able to metabolize & absorb the iron properly .. and yes I do all the necessary supplements and have been for years.
Had my 5th Upper/Lower GI scope. Pretty routine and the as per usual at the GI guy supposed he would find lower full of polyps and the upper full of ulcers. NADA. Considering I take 2 Excedrins 4 times a day, I was a bit surprised too. The bad result of the GI was one I did not have in the past 4.
I looked 11 months pregnant and was hard as a rock. They infuse air to expand colon/SI to scope. They really did infuse a lot. It eventually passes as gas but is very painful. I still have some swelling and pain after 3 days.
lungs, kidneys, and liver all checked out okay. Was wondering about liver as I do enjoy my wine!
They swore me off the Excedrin. I crossed my fingers saying yes but will take one or two a day as anti-inflammatory for knees. Definite downplay from the 8-10 prior. I refuse to go on the ridiculous meds that my orthopedic surgeon cousin told me NOT to take and would not have his parents take (he is the one that put me on the excedrin).
Ill do the Tylenol they recommend for pain. The shingles pain issue is profound
I can now walk more than 20 feet without having to sit down and catch my breath for 10 minutes. That has been my life the past almost year.
Had a nice long text chat with Pax on Fri PM.... we have so much in common and I hope before 2018 rolls around I get in my desired trip and that will include a stop in her area.
Today I hope to attend my Early Jas monthly jazz session. Working the 12-15 hour shifts at hotel on Sunday for 3 years I was not able to attend. Several of the folk have died and many moved.. We were a small group to begin with and now smaller but I have many musicians friends who will be there today for the Jam Session. My music man Bill is the performing coordinator. Bill also helped me when I went to hospital and checked in..
I will visit here all as I am able. I have caught up and saw Jenny’s great news. I am so hoping that this is a good job .. of course the money always is welcome but the working conditions and people make or break it for mental and emotional well being. God Speed Girlfriend in your new endeavor

FYI my friend with unexplained anemia had to go to B12 shots, supplement not sufficient. Though your condition sounds more complicated, thought I’d mention it because in his case the B12 fixed it. It was the hematologist who found the problem.
