Not sure of what these Bailouts for Congress members are.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I suspect he’s talking about taxpayers subsidizing their health care plans.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/04/17/do-members-of-congress-pay-for-100-percent-of-their-health-insurance/

Unless they go out on a private exchange, if they get Obamacare in the District, because they make too much for subsidies, “the Obama administration made an exception that allowed them to use the D.C. small-business exchange to receive health-care stipends from their employer (the federal government).

Yes, you read that correctly. The law allows individual congressional offices to be counted as small businesses of 50 or fewer employees.

On the exchanges, members and staff members get an employer (i.e., taxpayer) contribution of 72 percent for their premiums. So this allowed them to receive a similar subsidy as they did under the federal health plan.”

Every company or government employee who has health care plan at work buys something negiotiated with the insurance companies.

Congress buys insurance through the appropriate HR function. The US Army provides several health care plans that DOD employees can participate by buying - Congress is not different. Unions exist to ensure employees (private and govt sectors) keep and gain more benefits.d Part of the reason for having a job is to participate in affordable insurance.

Yes, that’s what he’s talking about. It is an administrative rule that Obama gave to subsidize Congress health insurance costs after their ‘irreplaceable’ staffers cried about the cost of Obamacare exchanges which they are in. Goodbye staffers if you don’t want to pay what other citizens are paying! You are not irreplaceable! You are very replaceable as are members of Congress! Change the administrative rule Mr. President. MAGA!

You are correct and I remember when this happened. When they passed the Bill they (Congress) was unaware of this issue and many of their staffers threatened to quit. So Obama wrote an exemption.

I would have ended that on day one. Day one. I would have even made a speech about our “Lords and Ladies” living above the law and how that will be changing, immediately.
