Top FBI Lawyer Under Investigation For Leaks
Breitbart ^ | 07/29/17 | Ian Mason

A Thursday report in Circa cites three officials claiming that FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is the “top suspect” in an investigation into leaks of classified Department of Justice information to the media.

The report claims the investigation is “criminal” in nature. It is unclear exactly what information Baker is suspected of leaking and to which new outlets he did so.

Baker is reportedly a “close ally” of ousted FBI Director James Comey, who, in 2014, appointed him to his current post as the top attorney representing the bureau. According to a June report in Vox, Baker was one of the three officials to whom Comey turned for advice soon after his infamous private audience with President Donald Trump in which he later claimed, through a memo leaked to Columbia Law professor Daniel Richman, that the President asked him “let it go” with regard to former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

If Circa’s report proves accurate, it may be the first name to drop in Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s rumored extensive probe into leakers in the federal government. Neither the Justice Department nor the FBI responded to Circa’s request for comment on Baker being under investigation, but DOJ Spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores did release this statement to journalists Thursday:

We have seen an astonishing increase in the number of leaks of classified national security information in recent months....

And remember Sessions has the full support of the Senate and Trump dare not get in the way of doing what Session needs to do.

All of these leakers were appointed. None of them ever served in the FBI. I believe if the FBI Directors office were all former agents none of this would be going on. IMO

The seemingly mild-mannered Jeff Sessions, while going through a public berating by President Trump, was actually operating behind the scenes to take down some other scourges on the earth, that nobody was paying attention to.

One aspect of the “scolding” of AG Sessions received, was that even some who may not have liked Sessions when he was getting nominated and confirmed for the AG position, jumped to defend him from the President’s assault, thus putting them on record as supporting Sessions in his adversity.

Having once defended him, it is a little hypocritical to then turn around and try to tear Sessions down now, as he begins to rip holes in the Deep State.

3-D chess taken to even higher dimensions.

Interesting comment in the Breitbart article:

Mr. Baker [purported leaker] is not related to Reagan era Secretary of State James A. Baker III or his son, attorney James A. Baker IV.

Nail him. This story was reported last October. Why has virtually nothing been done about this while everyone in the Trump family but Barron has an FBI/Mueller probe investigating them? There are MANY Democrats who should be indicted for crimes, convicted and imprisoned. None of this Fake Justice of probation or “community service” either.

I just think the whole thing is funny as hell.

And the thing about James Baker is that he is a close friend, colleague and ally of Comey and therefore tied in with Mueller. Now Mueller's remit on Russia should have put Baker dead in the middle of Mueller's sights. If Mueller let it slide with the obvious conflict of interest, Mueller needs to be gone, and Sessions can remove Comey for gross ethics violations - of which this would constitute one.

So since when has it bothered politicians to be hypocrites? They were best buddies in the Senate and then called him a racist during confirmation hearings.

I just don’t see it.

Does the position currently held by James Baker require confirmation by the Senate?

If not, then it is high-time to have a performance review and move on the problem.

Surely, there are legal-eagles available to fill this slot.
