Will Democrats block probe of a Russian op against Trump?
NY Post ^ | July 28, 2017 | Post Editorial Board

Why are Democrats protecting the Beltway smear-specialist firm Fusion GPS? Specifically, why are the party’s senators supporting Fusion chief Glenn Simpson in his refusal to say who paid to get that infamous President Trump-smearing “Russian dossier” drawn up?

As The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberly A. Strassel notes, Dem senators even passed on the chance to publicly question Jared Kushner and former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, rather than also expose Simpson to public questioning.

Maybe Democrats simply didn’t want anything to mess up their “collusion” narrative. Or perhaps they fear their own party used Fusion to commission the hit.

She’s not the only one on the case. Writing at Tablet, the Hudson Institute’s Lee Smith notes that perhaps the “dossier” was another Russian effort to interfere in US politics — an anti-Trump one to match Moscow’s work to undermine Hillary Clinton.

Because, Smith reminds us, “the point of the Kremlin’s assault on the American election of 2016 was to defame both candidates, and sow chaos, and thereby to discredit the American system of government, which rests on the consent of the governed.”

Fabricating such dossiers looks to be a Fusion specialty. Smith and Strassel both point to the Senate testimony of Bill Browder and Thor Halvorssen, each claiming to have been targeted by a Fusion dossier.

Browder was a force behind passage of the Magnitsky Act, a sanctions law that hits hard at Vladimir Putin’s inner circle and which Fusion was hired to help fight. Halvorssen is a human-rights activist (and occasional Post-Opinion contributor) who was publicizing corrupt maneuvers by Derwick Associates, a Venezuelan firm with deep ties to the Chavez regime that had partnered with Putin cronies.

As Smith notes, it’s not just Democrats in Congress who have reason to shield Fusion.

——With Trump as POTUS, all bets are off-—

Are there any actual bets? Is in reality Trump a danger the criminals you cited?

Great reporting here, read this:

Brennan, Rice, Power, Obama – Political Unmasking, More Coup Evidence

http://rickwells.us/brennan-rice-power-obama-political-unmasking-coup-evidence/#prettyPhoto

“The plot thickens.” Comey, Clinton, Lynch, Power etc are now desperate as cornered wolverines, hence their desperation to take out Trump.

Hell yes he is, because he COULD (not saying will) appoint a special counsel just as dogged as Mueller but in the other direction.

That is a dire threat to Comey-Lynch-Clinton-Power-Rice-Baker-Brennan etc.

For example, just the unmasking for political reasons could result in prison.

I am so done voting straight Republican. There’s no way I can vote for a party with a past and present strain of evil like the Democrats, but I will vote Republicans by candidate next go-around, and not vote if I don’t like the Pub that’s running.

That puts me in a dilemma here in North Carolina, where we have Tillis and Burr...

I understand that President Trump is in fact a very dangerous potential threat to the various listed sewer dwellers.

The task must be undertaken by the DOJ. I had faith that the reason Sessions was appointed was his strong belief that it was necessary to carry out the Trump mandate and drain the sewer. Sewer Draining includes trial and imprisonment not just exposure .

My view included the fact that Sessions could not proceed absent an FBI Director and an FBI. That seems possible in the near term if the Senate gets it’s act together.

Given the President’s recent hell raising with Sessions, I wonder.

“I believe you are right the democrats will try to minimize what ever involvement they had into everything while blaming a duplicates McCain.”

Noe this is bigger than Watergate. You have the Russians performing the break in and you have the DNC covering it up.

You nailed it. And if he’s healthy enough to come back and cast votes then he’s healthy enough to take the stand and answer those questions..but precious few in D.C. have the stones to push for it..

-- Why do republicans allow this? --

A majority of republicans have the same interest the DEMs do. They want to delegitimize the results of the election, and get Trump out of office. Congress is colluding with the Russians, and doing more damage to the Trump presidency than Russia could ever do.

And in the meantime, the Dhims will rely on their MSM friends to supply all fake news, all the time.

They don’t want real news about either side as it will likely be good for Republicans (other than McStain) and bad for Dhims.

Why do republicans allow this?

An important question.

I think the answer is, they want to remove President Trump through impeachment but don't want to get their hands dirty, lest it make their voters angry. Their comrades in the "Democratic" wing of the entity that rules over us understand their dilemma, and are more than happy to play "bad cop" to the congressional GOP's "good cop".

All the pieces are in place for a (perfectly legal) coup, as long as the corrupted Mueller investigation is allowed to run to completion.

Note that Paul Ryan, in his only passionate remarks so far about the "Russia" nonsense, vouched for Mueller's integrity and impartiality.

Ryan is the frontman for Romney and Bush, and is the key player in the conspiracy.

As soon as Mueller indicts Trump, a "shocked" Paul Ryan, "with a heavy heart", will announce that Trump has to go. All Ryan needs are 25 GOP votes (I presume all 193 Democrats are on board), and he surely has them in his pocket already.

Once Trump's trial in the Senate begins (if they even allow him the courtesy of a hearing), the 67 votes to remove him are certainly there. After all, the Democrats fear Trump but the Senate Republicans truly hate him - he stole their party, and they want it back.

Notice how Mueller is practically begging to be fired. I expect him to escalate his misbehavior after Labor Day. Either Trump allows himself and his whole family to be indicted, OR he saves Mueller the trouble by firing him - in either event, Ryan is now free to uncloak and issue the indictment the Senate is dying to receive.

The one way out (and I've been saying since January Trump had six months to do this, sorry DJT, time's up) is for Trump to renounce the Republican Party and announce that, since the Congress is unable to act in the American people's interest because of corruption that HE will personally designate 435 candidates for the House and 33 for the Senate in 2018 that will support his agenda.

This burns his bridges, and COULD lead to his removal - but it also would be such a potent threat that it could stay Ryan's (Romney's and Bush's) hand.

GRAHAM: ... Any effort to go after Mueller could be the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency, unless Mueller did something wrong.

CNN July 27, 2017

Trump has yet to apply pressure to Mueller or Rosenstein. The justification for doing so is just recently emerged. Trump's legal team for doing so is recently formed.

The pieces for Ryan's coup attempt may be in place, but they haven't been "lit up" yet.

Yes, I agree.

Recent events suggest that Trump now understands the situation and has decided to go to the mattresses.

I hope so.

I think they under estimate POTUS. He is clearing out the rot. Priebus was the mole. McMaster will be next. The game changer will be the destruction DNC.

POTUS has the Intel, has the DNC laptops, and Wieners computer. There is also reason to believe Mueller is actually a Trump plant. Trump interviewed him for the FBI job the day before he was hired as the special prosecutor. The problem is Mueller is disqualified based on his prior tenure.

The arrest of the Awan brother was the lynchpin. As was predicted by an anonymous source on 4chan, July 27th begins “operation boomerang”. Get some popcorn, lots more to come.

Yes, BUT, like Willard (another Democrat operative), neither of these people should ever have been selected as the Presidential nominee in the first place. The Establishment of the party was content to have their Democrat Deep Statist allies running the country.
