STATEMENT BY SENATOR JOHN McCAIN ON VOTING “NO” ON “SKINNY REPEAL”
McCain.senate.gov ^ | 7/28/17 | some staffer for McCain

Posted on 07/28/2017 4:31:31 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement today on voting “no” on the so-called “skinny repeal” of Obamacare:

“From the beginning, I have believed that Obamacare should be repealed and replaced with a solution that increases competition, lowers costs, and improves care for the American people. The so-called ‘skinny repeal’ amendment the Senate voted on today would not accomplish those goals. While the amendment would have repealed some of Obamacare’s most burdensome regulations, it offered no replacement to actually reform our health care system and deliver affordable, quality health care to our citizens. The Speaker's statement that the House would be ‘willing’ to go to conference does not ease my concern that this shell of a bill could be taken up and passed at any time.

“I’ve stated time and time again that one of the major failures of Obamacare was that it was rammed through Congress by Democrats on a strict-party line basis without a single Republican vote. We should not make the mistakes of the past that has led to Obamacare’s collapse, including in my home state of Arizona where premiums are skyrocketing and health care providers are fleeing the marketplace. We must now return to the correct way of legislating and send the bill back to committee, hold hearings, receive input from both sides of aisle, heed the recommendations of nation’s governors, and produce a bill that finally delivers affordable health care for the American people. We must do the hard work our citizens expect of us and deserve.”

It is time for McCain to go. It is too bad there isn’t something very near and dear to him that could be destroyed so he could feel the pain before he dies, but I doubt there is anything more important to McCain than himself.

But it didn’t get rid of the business mandates, IIRC. It was still a job killer.

Evidently the freedom-loving and brilliant voters of Arizona approve of McCain’s “MO.”

His problem he says thatt no republican voted for Obamacare,it was rammed through by democrats with no republican votes.
Yes ahole, that shoukd be and was in my opinion a badge of honor,as most people knew then, and has been verified by the liars who were pushing this monsrosity now, they admit as Jonathan Gruber has stated in public,we had to lie to get it passed.
So Mr.Mccain you are full of crap,Obamacare should be repealed, phase it out over 2 years while health insurance is put back in the private sector where it belongs

I had some respect for McCain for his Military service. Not anymore. He can't be gone soon enough for me.

The Democrats have no interest whatsoever in working this out.

************************************************************

The Dems KNOW Obamacare is a failure and it will ultimately collapse. They want it fived to be sure but they don’t want it fixed by the Republicans because then it will be seen the Rep succeeded where the Dems failed.

The Liberals also for some reason believe they can pin the failure of Obamacare on the Republicans and there are some here who believe the same. But it won’t happen unless, UNLESS the Repubs are stupid enough to actually ADMIT to it being in any way their fault (I know, I know)

The Democrats OWN Obamacare lock, stock and barrel of this there can be no doubt.

There is something going on here that perhaps many are not aware of. Before a vote is ever taken in either House the count for and against is known. Yet on at least three occasions on this health care thing we have seen McConnell bring it to a vote KNOWING it would fail. The word is being put out that the Republicans are trying to do something and the Democrats have not done a thing to help save the law they themselves passed in the dead of night and based on nothing but lies.

Isn't it funny that every time the GOP has the chance to pass a conservative bill they always come up one or two votes short and the megastate wins.

The megastate always wins.

Who were the other 2 Republicans who voted no? Let me guess....Graham and Collins? Murkowski?

If McConnell had any balls he would rip McStain, Collins and Murkowski out of all their committee leadership roles. Then he might get control of the senate. Of course, maybe this is the result McConnell wanted.

No 80 year old person with a cancerous tumor in the frontal lobe of their brain and a history of doing and saying bazar things to get attention and refers to himself as being a maverick be in a position to make decisions which affect millions of people. Probably heavily medicated too.

Liar indeed. No excuse for NOT removing the most burdensome regulations (taxes) to start and then going back and fixing the rest of it later, incrementally if necessary.

McCain reminds me of a women going through a lifelong menopause.

He has been a failure all his life. If his name wasn’t McCAin he would have been kicked out of the U S Naval Academy. Was allowed to remain and finished last in his class. Crashed two planes during naval flight training. Anyone else would have been kicked out after one crash’ but his grandfather and father were both admirals, and he got to stay.

He caused the destruction of five planes during his navy career. Last one over Hanoi because he flew at 3500 feet and was shot down by anti-aircraft guns. He claimed it was aSAM that got him. He lied.

He is a facade. Trump called his hand about being a hero, and he will never do anything to help Trump even if he hurts our country in the process.
