Climate Change Hypocrisy Goes Mainstream
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 7/27/2017 | Staff

Environment: Most everyone knows about how celebrity climate change activists like Leonardo DiCaprio don't care enough about saving the planet to give up their massive yachts, private jets and energy-sucking mansions. Turns out DiCaprio and Co. have set the standard for the hoi polloi.

DiCaprio, while accepting his Oscar, called climate change "the most urgent threat facing our entire species," and told viewers that "we need to work collectively and stop procrastinating."

Collectively, but not if it inconveniences DiCaprio, that is. His fabulously glamorous lifestyle has a carbon footprint that is bigger than dozens of middle class families put together, but he's shown no sign that he'd give any of it up to prevent mankind's destruction.

A few years ago, DiCaprio famously celebrated New Year's Eve on a yacht in the Sydney Harbor, then flew with his pals to Las Vegas to ring in the New Year a second time. God only knows how that added to the threat.

But while DiCaprio is perhaps the most brazen climate change hypocrite, he's hardly the only celebrity or politician to issue fire-and-brimstone sermons about the horrors of climate change while living like there's no tomorrow. Barack Obama recently enlisted a private jet, a helicopter and 14 cars … to give a speech on climate change. Hasn't he heard of Skype?

The weather channel broadcasts this propaganda all the time, IIRC I even heard some of it on one of the “shark week” shows on the discovery channel.

I’m still waiting for Al Gore to get his global rickshaw franchise IPO off the ground. Just think of the photo ops at all of the international climate conferences and assorted glitterazi events

Exactly. Until the people preaching this stuff walk the walk, why in the world should the rest of us follow suit at the cost of $100T by 2100?

The left is playing the long game with this. As younger (read indoctrinated) generations come into adulthood, they’ll achieve their goal.

Virtually everything in the media has a throwaway line or two about climate change.

Do you remember life when you NEVER EVER heard about:
1. Climate Change
2. Health Care
3. Homos, Trannies, etc.
4. Antifa, Black Bloc, “Social Justice”, colleges shutting down free speech and honest inquiry, snowflakes, safe spaces, etc

Little did we know at the time how good those days were.

As is typical for DiCaprio and his ilk, they do not have the intelligence or character to understand the lack of science in the global warming hoax. He probably cannot connect the dots between his immense carbon footprint and how it may relate to global warming.

I do not think that anyone really cares what he says or thinks. He is nothing more than a high school cut-up who made good.

Bernie Sanders: Climate Change is Directly Related To Terrorism

by Michelle Fields
Nov 14, 2015

"In fact, climate change is directly related to the growth of terrorism," said Sanders.

"And if we do not get our act together and listen to what the scientists say, you're going to see counties all over the world...they're going to be struggling over limited amounts of water, limited amounts of land to grow their crops, and you're going to see all kinds of international conflict."

Sanders said at the second Democratic debate in Iowa that climate change poses the biggest threat to America's national security and to security of the world. ..."

Bin Laden blasts US for climate change

January 29, 2010

CAIRO - Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming, according to a new audiotape released Friday.

In the tape, broadcast in part on Al-Jazeera television, bin Laden warned of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to stop it is to bring "the wheels of the American economy" to a halt.

"The environment is suffering damage that could be irreversible - global warming, the greenhouse effect, the melting of the polar ice caps, the rising sea level, hurricanes - with terrible social occurrences that will shake life on this planet."

"I believe this idea has a strong connection with reality. I don't think we have much time. Fidel Castro said in one of his speeches I read not so long ago, 'tomorrow could be too late, let's do now what we need to do'."

"I believe it is time that we take up with courage and clarity a political, social, collective and ideological offensive across the world - a real offensive that permits us to move progressively, over the next years, the next decades, leaving behind the perverse, destructive, destroyer, capitalist model and go forward in constructing the socialist model to avoid barbarism and beyond that the annihilation of life on this planet."

Jane Fonda sounds climate change alarm in Toronto
The Star ^ | July 4, 2015 | Christopher Reynolds

"The climate change problem is the issue of our civilization. It will affect everything about our lives if we don't do something about it," she [Jane Fonda] says.
___________________________________________________

November 22, 1970 -- During a fund-raising tour for GI deserters, Vietnam Veterans Against the War and the Black Panthers, Jane Fonda is quoted in the Detroit Free Press as telling a University of Michigan audience:

"I would think that if you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist," and "The peace proposal of the Viet Cong is the only honorable, just, possible way to achieve peace in Vietnam."

I liked the weather channel when it was simply a text and radar display with the NOAA broadcast.

Mainstream or not, it is still hypocrisy.

Based on fake science, none of which may ever be replicated in a laboratory or out in the field, and driven by a combination of greed, guilt, and fear based in ignorance.

One’s attention is directed to the “Dutch Tulip Bulb Market Bubble”.

The tulip was brought to Europe in the middle of the sixteenth century from the Ottoman Empire. Holland’s upper classes soon competed for the rarest bulbs as tulips became a status symbol.

By 1636, tulip bulbs were traded on the stock exchanges of numerous Dutch towns and cities, encouraging all members of society to speculate in the markets. Many people traded or sold possessions to participate in the tulip market mania. Like any bubble, it all came to an end in 1637, when prices dropped and panic selling began. Bulbs were soon trading at a fraction of what they once had, leaving many people in financial ruin.

Is there any lesson to be learned here?

Or must the whole scheme to be repeated, this time with “climate credits” rather than tulip bulbs?

In my home, as in most, I think the biggest non-essential use of energy is from my TV. And outside the home it is driving to the theater to see a movie.

OK, I’ll do my part then and do without the non-essential carbon footprints from my energy-sucking boob tube and weekend movie excursions - just to make sure I’m not complicit with Leonardo in destroying our climate when it’s him on the screen.

Or perhaps that’s too extreme, so as a partial measure then I may do it only when it’s going to be Leonardo on the screen. I’m sure he’ll appreciate my effort to help save the planet by avoiding adding any carbon to the atmosphere by watching his movies, right?
