EXCLUSIVE: A top FBI lawyer is allegedly under an investigation for leaking classified information to the media
FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is purportedly under a Department of Justice criminal investigation for allegedly leaking classified national security information to the media, according to multiple government officials close to the probe who spoke with Circa on the condition of anonymity.
FBI spokeswoman Carol Cratty said the bureau would not comment on Baker and would not confirm or deny any investigation.
This comes as Department of Justice Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he would soon be making an announcement regarding the progress of leak investigations. A DOJ official declined to comment on Circas inquiry into Baker but did say, the planned announcement by Sessions is part of the overall "stepped up efforts on leak investigations."
Three sources, with knowledge of the investigation, told Circa that Baker is the top suspect in an ongoing leak investigation, but Circa has not been able to confirm the details of what national security information or material was allegedly leaked.

Dayum. What’s up woth FR? Are we being DOS’d????
Slooooooooooooow!
Baker may be a key player in getting FISA warrant and setting up the justification for wiretapping the Trump campaign, too.
Big mistake if true. He’ll end up without a job. Disbarred. And that’s doesn’t include whatever sentence the judge hands down.
RUBIO: Finally, who are those senior leaders at the FBI that you shared these conversations with?Deputy Director = Andrew McCabeCOMEY: As I said in response to Senator Feinstein's question, deputy director, my chief of staff, general counsel, the deputy director's chief counsel, and then, more often than not, the number three person at the FBI, who is the associate deputy director, and then, quite often, the head of the national security branch.
Chief of Staff = Jim Rybicki [FBI Chief of Staff/Senior Counselor]
Reportedly Told Comey That He Doesn't Fully Trust Jeff Sessions
General Counsel = James Baker
Article Names McCabe, Rybicki, and Baker as confidantes
All four of them had reservations about doing so because they did not fully trust Attorney General Jeff Sessions -- and because the events were unprecedented in their experience.
Deputy Director's Chief Counsel =
Associate Deputy Director = David L. Bowdich
Head of National Security Branch = Carl Ghattas as of Feb 28, 2017
With 0bama drone McCabe in charge, the FBI is still full of Comey Covfefe.
Seems to me it would be easy to catch someone. Likely some of the wild stories that have turned out to be wildly false were planted stories designed to catch the leakers.
I never was a big fan of Secretary Baker, but he did one good thing--he played a big part in keeping Al Gore from stealing the 2000 election.

Sara continues to do yeoman work
I agree. Sara is doing a great job.
Finally someone pays a price for this, and others stop doing it.
Does this mean the Jeff Sessions has not really been sleeping on the job for the past few months?
Is it worse than leaking ALL communications to & from the Secretary of State — for four years?
