I think the issue might be that Trump wants to hire people he trusts. Unfortunately most of the people he knows are people like Scaramuchi.
I’ve long wondered if Trump is a recent Christian convert. When he speaks about God he speaks as a neophyte, like someone who is new to it but is really onboard.
It might’ve been a recent enough event that he hasn’t made a lot of new associates or friends, and most from his previous life are snakes.
I have no idea if there’s truth to this or not but it explains some things. It also explains much of his personal frustrations. The man needs our prayers, regardless if there’s truth in it.

If true and not some clever ruse, this White House is truly a mess. If not and/or this is a some ruse, will the negative image it creates help or hurt Trump down the line? IMHO, none of this looks professional. Results are another matter.
