A Marxist student group at Swarthmore College disbanded itself earlier this year after realizing that its members were too rich and too white to be real commies.
According to screenshots confidentially provided to Campus Reform by an individual with access to the groups private Facebook page, the demise of the Swarthmore Anti-Capitalist Collective (SACC) came in the wake of a farewell letter from a member who had decided the group could never be an effective proponent of unproblematized anticapitalist politics due to its history of abuse, racism, and even classism.

Not good enough! They should stand up against a wall and commit suicide.
At Swarthmore? No wonder it was a small club.
This is great news!
Now that they’re so put off by whiteness, maybe they’ll stop being snowflakes! You know, get on with the pursuit of truth and knowledge, wherever it may lead? Even if it hurts?

Communism is just greedy people taking advantage of stupid people.
It doesn’t count without a beheading!!!
Stalin would have had them all shot.
First, it takes $47k a year for tuition. Figure the clothing, the food, and beer....a kid would require $65,000 minimum.
Second, with only 1,500 students....my humble guess is that this Marxist group probably made up a total of 10 members max...probably all male. I would be curious how a guy paying $47k a year....would find the logic to join a Marxist club.
Alternative would have been for them to give their riches away and stay true to their beliefs. Oh, maybe they were just skin-deep/ thin veneer Marxists. Do you suppose??
Revolutionaries almost always come from the leisure classes. The genuine “poor” usually do not have the time—even if they have the intelligence—to plot revolution. (Thus aristocrats in peasant garb led the March on the Bastille; thus Lenin led the Bolshevik Revolution; thus George Soros, etc.
You’re just a middle class, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we’ve got to get back
To the struggling masses (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the hell do you know about suffering and pain . . .
-Oingo Boingo - “Capitalism”
Too rich and too White. Just like the eco groups. I’ve seen more diversity at a NASCAR race.
C’mon kids - don’t give up!
Marx, Engel, Lenin, even Mao came from the bourgeoisie. Many past Marxists have said it is often you privileged white kids can see the true system for what it is You are the vanguard - it is your job to promote class consciousness and promote the revolution! So don’t worry about your whiteness and wealth!
I’ve read several books on the Soviet Revolution. The first thing that struck me was when the commies went to fire up the serfs (in the outback). Not only was that rejected by the serfs, most of the commies didn’t make it back alive. So the commies were stuck finding ‘masses’ in the cities, which they did, given the industrialization that was rapidly taking place.
But yes, the commie leaders, ALL OF THEM, where loaded with bucks...as we all know.
And their hero, Che Guevara, was also white and middle-class.
Both Marx and Engels came from well to do families. Engels had quit school and his father wanted him to work in a clerical position, and that’s when he decided to start the communist philosophy. Neither one of them were poor and struggling. They just thought they were smarter than everyone.
Some things never change.
Read my post 17.
With all the wampum that Cass made I wonder if *she* was a Commie.
