as long as the law is that spouses can’t be forced to testify against each other, this marriage IS absolutely necessary to her

If the story is true, that would be the logical explanation. I'm sure no one here believes that theirs was a true, loved-based relationship, at least for the bulk of it.

Yes it is, as long as there is a possibility that the Clinton Foundation will be criminally investigated.

This way, they can't testify against each other. (You know they would be racing to see who would be the first to throw the other under the bus.)
