NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) A Norwalk mom is grateful to be waking up with her family Thursday morning. Nury Chavarria won her first battle against deportation but the fight is not over yet.
A mom who lives in Norwalk is back home and a court says thats where she can stay for the near future.
43-year-old Nury Chavarria spent that past week living in a New Haven church. Thats because when she came to the United States from Guatemala at 19-years-old, she did so without the proper documentation. She spent 24 years living here without a problem working, paying taxes, raising four kids but this year she was told she was being deported.
Instead of getting on a plane last week as she was told to, she went to a sanctuary city, New Haven, and got sanctuary in a church in the Fair Haven section of town. She had been living in that church until Wednesday afternoon. Thats when a court in Hartford decided to grant her a stay of deportation.
Everyone who would speak to us in Norwalk thought it was the right call.
After 20 something years, its tough to send somebody back like that kids, life settled and everything, said Paolo Mota, Norwalk.
She should definitely be allowed to stay. 24 years, 4 kids, never been arrested, she deserves to stay, said Carlos Ramos, Norwalk.
You want to at least give somebody like that a shot and give them a chance and make a decision rather than just kick them out, said Rick Smith, Norwalk.
Chavarria says she is grateful to all her supporters. About 200 of them showed up at that New Haven church Wednesday for what was supposed to be a march and rally. That just happened to be when they got the news.
Connecticuts governor and US senators all voiced their support for letting her stay in the US. New Havens Mayor telling the crowd Wednesday, your voices made a difference.
So, because she's good at Hide n Seek she should stay?
Where’s the father of her kids?

...
How much did she pay in taxes? How much welfare did she receive? Where’s the father or fathers of the children.
Allow illegals to stay and it opens the door to a flood of illegals.
If she's 'legally' working she needed to provide two government iussued i.d.'s for her I-9 form. Where did she get these documents? One has to be either a valid passport or a Social Security card. How could she have legally obtained either? The answer is she couldn't.
She's been here with plenty of problems. She was here illegally from the get go and she was here illegally every day she woke up and drew breath. She was working here illegally, besides the fact that she's illegal and that delegitimizes every other wise legal action she might take, she was either paid under the table or she provided false or stolen documents. Deport her!
She spent 24 years living here without a problem working, paying taxes...
Paying taxes? How? With a stolen SSN?
Kick her out. She is a criminal.
Illegals cost the US tax payers $113,000,000,000.00 annually.
Deport illegals.
Expel muslims.
Worth repeating!!! Kick her out. She is a criminal.
24 years and she still hasn’t learned the language...
Problem.
Until there is a southern wall built, she and other illegals will simply keep coming back.
Please see post number 10. Thank-you.
She took a job from an actual citizen and deprived them of the ability to make a living.
Black lives matter...
Paying taxes? How? With a stolen SSN?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Way back when, before the illegals had the unmitigated gall to file tax returns & our gracious govt virtually returned ALL tax money to the ‘poor’ it was ‘said’ the reason no large crackdown on illegals was those that paid taxes weekly and no one to ‘claim the money’ at tax time was just a boon to the treasury - all the UNCLAIMED money.
Anyone really serious about this problem will start by purging the welfare rolls, enforcing existing zoning laws about # of people in a dwelling, enforcing rental laws and ‘punishment’ for using illegal IDs, then go after the people that hire them - not ONLY the prominent Rs that may have employed an illegal maid or visited a car wash with all illegal employees.
Of course the FIRST thing that has to be done is SECURE THE BORDERS, until then they will just keep coming back.
She is not a Norwalk mother. She is a Guatemalan illegal alien.
Get them out. Get them all out.
The Left LOVES Selective Enforcement of Laws.
“A mom who lives in Norwalk is back home and a court says thats where she can stay for the near future.”
And just what court is allowing her to stay? She is under an order of deportation by a Federal Immigration Court, which is why she “took sanctuary!”
She came here illegally as an adult so knew full well she was committing a crime. She continued to commit the crime of staying here every day for the 24 years. Nope, sorry, no sympathy. Kick her out immediately along with her anchor babies.
Without a problem?
Seriously?
Paying income taxes?
Games the incompetent criminal-enabling MSM plays; word games; lies by omission... look! a puppy! misdirection...
RICO conspiracy to suborn immigration, identity theft, banking, welfare, licensing and driving laws; endangering and abusing religious tax exempt church status.
Without a problem to whom?
Criminals?
Legitimizing mob "rule" or lawlessness raises the huge red flag of tree-branch or lamppost justice.
Careful what you wish for...
Careful! IRRC, she works as a housekeeper. So you're saying that she deprived a black of an "appropriate" job! That will be interpreted as RAYCISS!!!
