Debunking the EPA’s Fake Accounts of the Gold King Mine Disaster
The Daily Signal ^ | July 26, 2017 | Rob Gordon

Posted on 07/27/2017 5:56:12 AM PDT by george76

After almost two years, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Inspector General released its report on the Gold King Mine disaster that dumped over a million pounds of metals into the Animas River, turning dozens of miles of the river orange.

While inspectors general are tasked with finding out the truth and holding agencies accountable, this recently released report sheds no more light on the disaster than previous misleading reports.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has inherited not only an environmental mess, but also the mess created by an agency more interested in its narrow self-interests than truth. Pruitt now has an opportunity to send a message that would ripple far beyond the EPA.

...

Important facts supporting this Interior Department account are omitted from the inspector general report. What the inspector general kept in is less important than what the he left out.

...

Inspector General Omits EPA’s Critical, Wrong, and Indefensible Assumption.

...

Inspector General Omits That the EPA Crew Reburied the Natural Plug.

...

Inspector General Omits Discussion of Instructions for Removing Part of the Plug

...

There are gaping holes in the EPA’s fiction. If allowed to stand, the message will be that misleading, deceiving, and lying works, and that bureaucrats need not follow the laws they enforce on others.

If this second Gold King Mine mess is addressed, government officials who were at the site and those who created and promoted a false accounting will be put on notice that they must abide by laws and regulations they enforce, that they will be held accountable, and that public service means serving the public, not just your agency’s interests.

The message would ripple far beyond the EPA.

This has become a fascinating case in Federal-vs.-state jurisdiction in matters related to professional licensing. The last I heard, the licensing board for professional engineers in the State of Colorado has filed a formal complaint against members of the EPA project team in this case for practicing engineering without a professional license in Colorado.

As noted by the geologist who predicted the disaster in an editorial published TWO WEEKS PRIOR to the disaster:

This was a premeditated and intentional act designed to gain control of development on public and private lands.

No kidding !
I lived through this Federal Horror in the early 80s while managing a surface coal mine.
We had “inspectors” from the Office of Surface Mining over and over...

People along the Animas River know what happened and how bad it is all too well. We visited Durango and rode the train last fall. The river bottom is a red mess. I don’t see how it is possible for there to be very much living in it at all.

They thought a Democrat would win the next Presidential election so it would all be covered up or ignored even if exposed.

That letter proves that anyone WHO KNEW WHAT THEY WERE doing could have foreseen this. So this was either incompetence or purposeful.

The letter detailed how EPA officials would foul up the Animas River on purpose in order to secure superfund money.

-written by Dave Taylor, published in The Silverton Standard .

Three recent EPA caused mine disasters in Colorado : messes near Leadville and Crested Butte were the other two.

Has anyone heard a single PEEP from the radical EnviroWeenies on this one? I haven’t!

I mean, this would be the PERFECT disaster to EXPLOIT for monetary gain for their ‘clubs.’ How about a whole bunch of naked chicks live on rafts on the river until it’s cleaned up? Or maybe chain themselves to trees along the riverbank?

Or do Enviros only target and rail against Private Industries? Will they continue to worship at the altar of Big Government, even in the face of a disaster such as this?

Hypocrites.

The Sierra Club is not about the environment anymore - just another left-wing, hate-America interest group taking large money from Corporate Globalists ..

Sierra Club took $100 million bribe from hedge fund billionaire David Gelbaum in exchange for their soul.
