In a ruling which could have far-reaching consequences for how the European Union deals with migrants in future, the European Court of Justice on Wednesday upheld the right of member states to deport asylum-seekers to the first EU country they enter.
The ruling amounted to an effective rejection of Angela Merkels controversial open-door refugee policy, which saw more than one million asylum-seekers flood into Germany.
The court ruled that the EUs Dublin regulations, under which refugees must seek asylum in the first member state they enter, still apply despite the unprecedented influx of 2015.

The bad news: The Court says that these migrants must be deported not to their home counties, but to the EU border state that they first entered.
How crazy is that? So now the border states must suffer through no fault of their own. And if these border states should use force to try to keep the illegals out, the EU will sanction them with heavy fines. That happened to Italy recently.
When you look down the barrel of a gun long enough, suicide loses its allure. Deport all of them.
This ruling means that Germany will have to live with the mess it made. If any of the migrants go to another EU country, that country is free to deport that migrant back to Germany. Merkel won’t be able to export her stupidity to other EU countries, except those that are just as stupid as her.
Paging Italy
Nice try Merkel.
I think it DOES put it back in the court of the “first entry” state and THEIR rules on giving asylum status, or not.
Note to Trump: Go “rescue” Europe, by tasking the U.S. fleet in the Mediterranean with escorting the “migrant” boats back to the ports in North Africa they start out at.
But I think the “first country” can deport to the original country. It goes back in the reverse order in which it went forward.
Too late. The NWO horse is out of the barn.
WHAT MORONS!!!!!
HELL NO! The Euroweenies can spend their OWN blood and treasure sending them back!
Guess the EYEtalians kind of screwed themselves, did’t they?
You nailed it!
The two real losers here are Greece and Italy. Germany, not so much.
The Dublin Agreement, which has been in place for 25 years....is the sole agreement which details the simple rule...where you land in Europe, is where you must assimilate and register yourself.
These 200,000 migrants picked up in the Med and delivered to an Italian island are going to be permanent Italian guests now. The idea that Italy and the EU headquarters can force them to other EU member states? That’s mostly gone.
If you look at benefit packages of the 28 EU countries....Germany was the only five-star deal. I don’t think you will find a single migrant or immigrant in Germany who really wants to haul off or move to another EU country. Even on the job topic....Germany has the most job potential of any EU country right now....so it makes sense to stay.
And Greece and Spain.
There’s a whole fleet of NGO boats picking up rapefugees from rickety boats off of Libya and dumping them in Italy.
So far Italy has let them do that because most of the invaders wanted to go to northern Europe. Italy was just a bridge.
It’ll be interesting to see what Italy does now. Sinking an NGO boat might send the right message.
Politically (in Italy), most of the parties are still pro-migrant and pro-rescue. The Five-Star Party which is very popular right now....is the only one that is questioning the rescue episode.
I noticed this morning that some alt-right group has rented a vessel and intends to rescue migrants but dump them back into Libya. Operations probably won’t start for another two weeks. The NGO crowd will go nuts over this and I expect some kind of conflict (maybe ramming) to hinder the alt-right ship.
All of this is simply building up for some massive political shift in Italy over the next three years. If the EU can’t distribute the 200,000 migrants sitting in Italy now...a lot of voters will ask what the long-term plan is. Unemployment in Italy is 11.3-percent....so there aren’t any real job chances there for this group.
Lega Nord with Matteo Salvini is even more anti-invaders than the five star movement and Beppe Grillo.
The Italian public is fed up with the invasion and both Lega Nord and 5-star will gain strength with this ruling. And elections are not that far away.
So why don’t these EU border States just withdraw from the EU and give them the finger, while deporting the aliens?
