Let’s not forget, Shelby was a rat who switched cause the Senate and his state turned Republican. In the his fraudulent 1986 victory over conservative GOP Senator Jeremiah Denton he told shameful lies.

He’s mostly voted well since, but sometimes not.

That's one the major reasons why Shelby is not reliable, IMO. He "usually" votes like a conservative Republican because he "has to" to get elected in Alabama these days, but he has never been an ideological conservative or true believer in this stuff.

Same problem with Walter Jones in NC.
