Richard Dawkins is no friend to conservatives. The atheist author has spent much of his life deriding Judaism and Christianity. He once stated, "An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf." Dawkins says that even moderate religious people "make the world safe for extremists." He's far to the left on politics: He's pro-abortion rights, and a supporter of the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats in Britain.
But he's also smart enough to recognize that radical Islam is a greater threat to human life than Christianity or Judaism. He explains: "I have criticised the appalling misogyny and homophobia of Islam, I have criticised the murdering of apostates for no crime other than their disbelief. ... Muslims themselves are the prime victims of the oppressive cruelties of Islamism."
Such language makes him a pariah among leftists.
This week, Dawkins was scheduled to speak at an event with KPFA radio in Berkeley, California. All went swimmingly -- until leftists realized that Dawkins had said some untoward things about Islam. The station then canceled the event, citing his "abusive speech." It explained: "We had booked this event based entirely on his excellent new book on science, when we didn't know he had offended and hurt -- in his tweets and other comments on Islam, so many people. KPFA does not endorse hurtful speech."
This is no shock. The same left that barred Dawkins from his Berkeley event cheered this week while Palestinian Arabs rioted over metal detectors at the Temple Mount. Those leftists proclaim that the true obstacle to peace in the Middle East isn't Palestinian Arab violence -- it isn't Palestinians who stab Israeli Druz officers on the Temple Mount; or the Palestinians who invade homes and slaughter old men and women; or the Palestinians in government who cheer, honor and financially support such behavior. No, the problem is the Jews.
The same left that blames metal detectors for murderous assaults and Richard Dawkins for offending Islam makes excuses for radical Muslim and Women's March on Washington organizer Linda Sarsour, who has called for certain apostate Muslims to have their genitals removed, says that Zionists cannot be feminists and stands up for terrorists and terror supporters.
Why does the left seek to support radical Islam so ardently? Because the left believes that the quickest way to destroy Western civilization is no longer class warfare but multicultural warfare: Simply ally with groups that hate the prevailing system and work with them to take it down. Then, the left will build on the ashes of the old system. In this view, Dawkins is an opponent -- how can the left recruit Muslims to fight the system if Dawkins is busy alienating them? They support the Palestinian terror regime -- how can that colonialist outpost, Israel, be defeated without a little blood? They applaud Sarsour -- she's an ally, so she must be backed.
Alliance with nefarious forces calls your own morality into question. KPFA has a lot more to answer for than Dawkins. But the left will never have to answer such questions so long as it focuses in on its common enemy: a supposedly conservative establishment that must be fought with any tool at its disposal.
While communists such as Boris Johnson are mysteriously pro-Islam, but never questioned about the contradiction, most socialist leaders started taking Arab money alongside Soviet funds.
As the left retreats from the very concept of “sin”, “judgment” and the inevitable punishment of Hell, Christians have been left with no way to express their politics except conservative parties.
Major universities in Europe and the U.S. willingly accepted Islamic funds since they agree that the source of the world's problems are Christians and Jews, ignoring the hypocrisy as their greed and hatred of G_d stole their souls.

Because Islam is mostly practiced by people with brown skin.
The dem tent is made up of factions. Too many of these aren’t compatible and will start eating each other. I think this will eventually kill the dem party. Can homosexuals and muslims both survive under the same tent? Jews and muslims? What if blacks took their toys and played elsewhere?
They both hate freedom. They both think the ends justify the means, might makes right, and innocent freedom lovers deserve to be destroyed.

Because socialism is cynicism directed at American society. Cynicism is an antonym for faith, and to be opposed to faith is first of all. in America, to be hostile to Christianity.Islam is hostile to Christianity, and “the enemy of my enemy . . .”
Perhaps it's the fact that there will be no consequences for targeting Christianity and, of course, it's the religion of his youth or at least the culture around him so he's rebelling against it . . . like a teenage boy rebels against his father.
It's sad Dawkins refuses to grow up.

An atheist that doesn’t prioritize their attack on religion reigning in order from most harmful religion to least harmful religion who goes on to attack Christianity the most is what we call “A cowardly opportunist”...
The ONLY atheists I have ANY shred of respect for these days are those who Vehemently attack Islam with great risk to their own lives, and who may not personally believe in it, but actually support Christianity as they recognize it as one of the bedrocks of a society that has allowed atheism in exist in the WESTERN MODERN CIVILIZED WORLD!

BINGO! Also the sort of group-think rhetoric tactics used by Islam matches the Communist manifesto. It is as if the text of the book “Rules for Radicals” was carefully plucked from the pages of “Muhammed’s Big Book of Barbarian Warfare” otherwise known as the “Gory Quaran”.
Central to this argument is dialectical materialism, or marxism, which says that everything can be understood as a conflict of opposites, and that out of the conflict comes resolution.
By putting humans and m*slims in conflict, the left hopes to obtain a third reality, which will lead them to the establishment of a marxist paradise.
*slam is the only protected religion, because it is the one which is in process of destroying Christianity, a goal shared by the left.

I think you are very close to the real answer here, thanks for helping me to clarify this puzzling situation.
I would add that the left does not recognize their lack of work as part of their problem, but instead have focused on Christianity and the white man as tangible manifestations of the bad guys for 'stealing' this beautiful land from the noble savages they found here (plus a host of other factors they see as evil, like slavery, etc.).
The Muslims are just the lefts tool for punishing the bad guys as the left rises to power to fill the vacuum. They don't seem to realize the Mooslims see them the same as all other Kafirs and won't just go away when the fighting is mostly done.
The Left is absolutely elitist, amoral, and hedonistic.
This coincides strongly with Islam, which rewards its adherents with debauchery in paradise, and, justifies in this life if you wealthy enough to afford it.
It is also opposed to Western Civilization and Christianity, both of which the Left despises.
This is the source of their support.
