House Ethics Committee is reviewing allegations against three Democrats
The Washington Post ^ | 06/26/2017 | Mike DeBonis

Posted on 07/26/2017 1:09:58 AM PDT by Fedora

The House Ethics Committee said Monday it is reviewing charges lodged against two high-profile Democratic lawmakers and a senior Democratic aide.

The lawmakers facing an ethics review are Rep. John Conyers Jr. (Mich), the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee and the longest-serving sitting House member, and Rep. Ben Ray Luján (N.M.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The staffer is Michael E. Collins, chief of staff to Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.).

Statements released Monday by the Ethics Committee did not detail the allegations against the three men, which were forwarded to the committee by the independent Office of Congressional Ethics based on a “substantial reason to believe” a violation has occurred.

The cases will come up for further review on Aug. 9, at which point the Office of Congressional Ethics report in each case will be made public and the Ethics Committee can launch a more serious investigation, dismiss the allegations or extend its review. . .

I sense the hand of President Trump. He’s pushing for a counter-assault on the Democrat seditionists.

Because the rest of the house dims wake up in the morning and s😁😁t ethics. Meanwhile, the awan brothers or whatever their names are have had access to probably the highest level of State secrets for years, doing who knows what with the information, evidently under the watchful eye of wasserman (destroyer of hard drives) schultz, and none of them had a problem with it. If the "ethics" comittee truly did their job, the dims would topple like dominoes until none were left, taking a few Republicans out with them. The whole thing is a sham. The US Congress is part of the swamp that needs to be drained by the American people, but won't.

Thanks, Fedora

From George Webb:
They have been using the Congressional credit union as an ATM.

A previous staffer, Cynthis Martin, has been guilty twice – congressional staffer using different accounts to fund activities and convicted before, no time – community service.

The CBC has the best legal Assistance package in Congress; because they need it.

The Lujan are a famously imbedded New Mexico family. The issue here probably has to do with Lujan and Dawn Peavy.

“The cases will come up for further review on Aug. 9..............”

And never to be heard of again or, no charges will be forthcoming. The pattern has long been established and is plainly visible.

I’m hoping that the Trump strategy is one of attrition. Maybe it’s not possible to round up all the swamp creatures in one fell swoop, but drip, drip, drip, a few at a time works just fine for me.

My thoughts as well.

BTW, Denny Hastert, former Republican Speaker of the House, was sentenced to prison. So it CAN be done. Paging Nancy Pelosi.
