Actually, I believe there must be a bonus included for health care workers if they get a patient on the 'Do Not Resuscitate' list, because they ask older patients insistently to get on it as soon as they arrive at the hospital. The bonus for getting somebody who may end up costing the health care system hundreds of thousands to kill themselves, is probably even better that DNR bonus.
Looks like the baby Charlie Gard solution has arrived here.
Nuevo Leon?
Nuevo Laredo?
North Latvia?
New Leningrad?
Never Land?
A country can only play with socialism for a short time before it implodes and becomes a living nightmare. They won’t have to worry about assisted suicide and no resussitate orders when just walking in their hospitals almost guarantees a deadly outcome.
I’ve been in Soviet hospitals.
And the more it is done, the more rationalized it will be.
British and Canadian hospitals are in the same business: death to those some bureaucrat deems ready to die. Imperfect children, old people, burdens to society and therefore must die. Hitler would be so proud.
I can’t count the numbers of times I wanted assisted suicide after I got out of the hospital after severe head injury.
Most of you guys know this story.
10 years ago. 8 nightmarish years.
Things that weren’t supposed to heal after 2 years did, as recently as a few years ago. Nerves were the big ones.
Nerves CAN’T HEAL after a few months, I was told. You’ll likely get worse!!
Wrong.
Does it suck sometimes? Yeah :) Lots of symptoms until I die.
But it’s a lot better than what doctors said it would be. A lot.
Being that sick AND obama in office. I wanted Assisted Suicide!!!
Now I’m working, you can’t tell i have any issues, and I can go where I want.
And I got to VOTE for Trump.
I don’t have the severe illnesses this young lady has.
But I can say one thing. A hard life is a LOT better than no life.
And thank you Jim for FR for the years I couldn’t do much but blab on here :)
Doctors want to assist suicide, they can do it to each other. No one’s stopping them.
Canada has GREAT health care — unless and up until you really get sick.
An acquaintance of mine married a Canadian girl — her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The Canadian health service kept delaying his care, including routine appointments and his biopsy, until finally after a year it was too late, since he had one of the more aggressive forms of prostate cancer, and it had spread. He was in his early 60’s, as I recall when he died a few months later.
Canadians who get really sick often come to the USA to get treatment, at their own expense. Where will we all go if socialized heath care (single payer) comes here?
Wherever socialism is practiced, if the individual is deemed a hindrance to the collective or political well being, that individual is very expendable. Labor camps, political “reeducation” camps with very high death rates, summary executions, euthanasia,”mercy” killings have all come with countries that have embraced socialism.
"Ohhhhh.. what are you doing? Were you pulling the plug on me!"
Soylent Green is people, it’s PEEEOOPPLE! ... Oh, we’re not there yet? Well give it time.
This tells me that the British System has determined that the individual has no dignity and can be murdered at their discretion. They have retreated back into the Dark Ages of the drawing and quartering and the guillotine. The irony of it is, next time, we will think long and hard about saving them.
