Canada has GREAT health care — unless and up until you really get sick.

An acquaintance of mine married a Canadian girl — her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The Canadian health service kept delaying his care, including routine appointments and his biopsy, until finally after a year it was too late, since he had one of the more aggressive forms of prostate cancer, and it had spread. He was in his early 60’s, as I recall when he died a few months later.

Canadians who get really sick often come to the USA to get treatment, at their own expense. Where will we all go if socialized heath care (single payer) comes here?

Happens to a friend of my parents.

He had brain cancer and they delayed diagnostics tests until too late.

They had to hire a nurse to pick up the chemo at one hospital and deliver it and administer it at the hospital next door.

He needed a hip replacement 20 yes ago. Had to wait 18 mos. Soon after needed the other one but he had to wait another 18 mos.

Came to the US and paid to have it done.
