Parents have expressed anger after President Donald Trump delivered a highly politicised speech to tens of thousands of boy scouts.
Mr Trump started by saying: "Who the hell wants to speak about politics?"
But his speech to the Jamboree in West Virginia railed against Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the "cesspool" of politics, drawing whoops and cheers.
One parent wrote: "Done with scouts after you felt the need to have my kid listen to a liar stroke his ego."
The Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of America is held every four years and drew about 35,000 scouts from the ages of 12 to 18 to the latest event, held in Beaver, West Virginia, on Monday evening.
The Jamboree had issued a warning on its blog about being respectful.
It read: "Chants of certain phrases heard during the campaign (e.g. 'build the wall', 'lock her up') are considered divisive by many members of our audience, and may cause unnecessary friction."
But in a rambling 35-minute speech, Mr Trump whipped up a response of boos, cheers, chants and jeers as he lambasted fake news, Hillary Clinton's election campaign and President Obama's failure to address a Jamboree in person.

The Cub/Boy Scouts I was in would never have put up with the lgbpxyz or whatever crap. Our Troop would have rioted with the Leaders joining in.
I’m pretty sure that We also would have created a “Burning at the Stake” Merit Badge.

Jamboree of ‘76 from Houston,TX to Washington State. Road the bus up and flew back home. We had the choice to do that or the reverse to fly up and bus back. My Dad worked for AA and worked in Charter sales so He setup the flights of several 707’s. I chose to fly back as I figured that I would be worn out, I was right. But it was a GREAT TRIP!!!
We camped at the Grand Canyon, saw the Mormon Tabernacle in SLC and camped in the Gym at the University, camped at Yellowstone and a few other places I can’t remember.
We had a BLAST!!!
Our Troop Leaders were All War Veterans and We learned valuable lessons from them. My First Aid Merit Badge was done under the supervision of a Korean War Medic and He told many a story about His Service, learned way more than was required for the Merit Badge from Him.

Surprised the media didn’t headline with ‘Trump seeks support; addresses paramilitary youth organization’.
The Scouts in attendance were fine with it. It's the alleged "I'm a parent of Eagle Scouts" and "I'm a former Eagle Scout" that are upset.
I use quotes because I question if these people were ever truly involved in Scouting.
Also, surprised (but not really) to learn that in eight years, Obama did not once attend a Jamboree. He sent recorded videos.

Unfortunately, today those are just words to the BSA.
I was a Boy Scout. My brother was a Boy Scout. My parents were our scout leaders. I am an Eagle scout. I was my sons' scout leader. Both of my boys are Eagle scouts. My sister and her husband were scout leaders and their two boys are Eagle Scouts. Our whole family was engaged in the scouting organization for years.
But I was done with the scouts myself when they opened the door to homosexuals scouts. Then the icing on the cake was when homosexual leaders were allowed. I stopped donating money to them. I even returned my Eagle scout badge, a honored medal I have been proud of since I earned it, back to them with a letter telling them how I opposed what they had done to the scouting movement. So sad. Now it's no different that letting men in little girls' bathrooms. Liberals are sickos.
Having President Trump speak to the scouts is the least of these parents' problems with the Scouts.

They have been doing this to protect the boys. It is a brilliant work around.
