Dalits got paid for their work. American slaves never got paid a dime by their Christian “owners”. People who live in glass houses should refrain from throwing stones at others.

And, a dalit was elected president in India, and they now have legal protection as well. And get this straight, the treatment of dalits has nothing to do with Hindu religion. None of the holy Hindu scriptures profess discrimination. It was strictly a social phenomena akin to slavery in United States. I am certain the Bible does not profess slavery either.

Stop conflating religion with social mores.

I am pleased that you brought up the issue of slavery. It has been practiced throughout history, world-wide, including India, and is still practiced today in many muhamedan countries. Shamasastry's 1915 English translation of 'Arthashastra', discusses the rights of slaves and punishments for various abuses by their masters. From what religious group, do you suppose, came the abolition of slavery? British Christians! Led by Wm. Wilberforce, the slave trade was abolished throughout the British Empire 1807. British economic and sea power 'convinced' other countries, especially European colonial powers, to also abolish this evil practice. In 1833, slavery was abolished throughout the Empire (save East India Company territories, where it was abolished in 1843). In the US, many in the North supported abolition and it finally occurred in 1865. The worldwide push against slavery was a Christian phenomena, based on Jesus' teaching.

Let us also never forget General Sir Charles James Napier's response to Hindu priests complaining that they could not longer practice 'sati', the ritualized burning to death of the wife of a dead man. General Napier replied, “Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs."

Actually, some of the hymns of your rigveda are quite violent. The RSS and BJP psychos are merely following these teachings. Here is a link to a website that lists a number of such violent scripture. Here are a few examples:

Rig Veda 9.13.9 ”May you (O love divine), the beholder of the path of enlightenment, purifying our mind and destroying the infidels who refuse to offer worship, come and stay in the prime position of the eternal sacrifice.” Tr. SatyaPrakash Saraswati

Rig Veda 7.6.3 ”May the fire divine chase away those infidels, who do not perform worship and who are uncivil in speech. They are niggards, unbelievers, say no tribute to fire divine and offer no homage. The fire divine turns those godless people far away who institute no sacred ceremonies.” Tr. SatyaPrakash Saraswati

Rig Veda 9.63.5 ‘‘Augmenting the strength of resplendent self, urging the waters and rejuvenating all noble acts and destroying the infidels.” Tr. SatyaPrakash Saraswati

Your claims of Hindu 'tolerance' are belied by such scriptures! Below, are a number of links to articles about Hindu violence against Christians, which also belie your claims of tolerance. A quick Google search for 'anti christian violence in india' yields a huge number of articles.

' Christians in India suffering increasing levels of persecution'

'Violence against Indian Christians in 2016 up by a third on first half of 2015'

'Uncertain future for Indian Christians after BJP’s election victories'

''Alarming rise' in attacks against Christians in India'

'Christians in India increasingly under attack, study shows'

'The rise of exclusionary politics in India'

You comment that, 'Stop conflating religion with social mores.' The problem is that social mores flow from religion. In light of those scriptures noted above, ask yourself, why is it that most of the violent perpetrated by Hindus against Christians is by 'fundamentalist' Hindus and not secularized Hindus? 'Fundamentalist' Hindus are just going back to their scripture. Remember General Napier's comment? 'sati' WAS a social more among Hindus prior to it's banning in 1829. British rule over India for almost 200 years (including the East India Company before the Raj), ended many of the nastiest 'mores' of Hindu practices (as it did with the nastier of muhamedan practices).

The problem in the West is that many have thrown off decent Judeo-Christianity mores, flowing from the Bible and adopted nasty mores arising from self-satisfaction. .

You claim that, "...the treatment of dalits has nothing to do with Hindu religion. None of the holy Hindu scriptures profess discrimination." According to this BBC article,
"Manusmriti, widely regarded to be the most important and authoritative book on Hindu law and dating back to at least 1,000 years before Christ was born, "acknowledges and justifies the caste system as the basis of order and regularity of society"."

As you well know, there are four castes that your false religion claims descend from Brahma, your Creator God; Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras. Dalits were not included, so they became 'outcastes', or untouchables, subject to all types of discrimination in India. Here is a 2012 article from the BBC concerning 'Dalits'.

As I stated before, I do not support a government that chooses to ignore, even condone the systematic oppression of a minority religious group. AFA I am concerned, fighting between China and India is a good thing, if it postpones the RSS pogrom!
