Bright orange signs warning people that Twin Cities police startle easily appeared at two St. Paul intersections on Sunday. The “Twin Cities Police Easily Startled” sign shows a figure in a police uniform with legs spread and firing a gun in each hand.

It’s also a public service for people from outside of Minneapolis & St. Paul who might be under the false assumption that the local police are there to help.

Why would anyone be upset by this (very clever, well-produced) sign?

All reports to date indicate that “being startled” was the cause of Justine Damond’s murder by Officer Noor. Another reasonable explanation has not yet been forthcoming.

Parody can only be successful, which this is, if there is truth underneath the humor.
