"It will soon be illegal for U.S. citizens to travel to North Korea. This move comes after the death last month of an American tourist who spent a year and a half in a North Korean jail only to return home in a coma. He died days later. NPR's Michele Kelemen has more."

I guess it's time to sell the timeshare in North Korea. Travel ban begins in August.

It’s unfortunate that we have to ban travel to North Korea.
Anyone with a functioning brain knows it’s stupid to go there.

My thoughts, too.

Why not let Natural Selection continue to thin the herd? ;)

“Anyone with a functioning brain knows it’s stupid to go there.”

That’s the problem, we do have people whose brains are non-functional. Religious zealots who think they’ve been called by God to go there and preach the gospel, plus one ugly-a$$ed black man who is “loved” by Little Kimmie!

I smell a Trump 3D chess move, but may be reading too much into this.

OK, Trump bans travel to Norkland.

“Someone” files a lawsuit challenging Trump’s authority to prevent people from LEAVING the U.S. to go to a named country.

Naturally the case is ruled in favor of the administration.

BAM! If it is constitutional to PREVENT travel TO a named country, it has to be constitutional to PREVENT travel FROM a named country.

My 2 cents,

We don’t need to give North Korea any leverage like we did with Berghdahl. Obama committed treason.

Seems to me that the most Trump could legally hope for is a ban on direct travel arrangements to NK, and a warning to all other would-be travelers. It’s symbolic. If one goes, for example, to China, which is not banned, one can then go to NK. It will always be held that the freedom to be in a country means the freedom to cease to be in it.

However, the amount that the home country can do for its travelers abroad can in some cases be starkly limited. It can make general humanitarian appeals. But in the end, if you were warned about a hell on earth and yet went there willingly, you undertook the risks. It isn’t easy. We think the Warmbier incident did underscore just how evil things were in North Korea. And we believe in the long run, the consequences of the evil will catch up with North Korea. But in the short run we can’t do much, except pray to God.

I personally think a stern warning to all international travelers, as well as declining to furnish direct transportation from the USA to that place, should be sufficient.

The number of people mad at Donald Trump for the dismal fate of Mr. Warmbier is probably uncommonly close to zero. Let’s not chase a non-problem.

As for gospel, there might be safer ways to do it and still do it. Beaming John 3:16 in right in the middle of one of Dear Leader’s on-air presentations would be a baller way to do it, IMHO. From a sacrificial drone launched from China, or something like that.

Try Timeshareexitteam.com. Even they may have trouble but it’s worth a try.

It is a good idea to do this. Fatboy uses these people as bargaining chips. He know if he grabs someone that the person’s family will start bugging the government to get their family member back.

What you said, yes, I think so.

Also, by banning travel to NK, he won’t have to get embroiled in pleas from family of those kidnapped or disappeared there, to find them or get them out. Will free up some money and time for the State Dept.

Shucks - I was looking forward to all the great culinary delights they have over there, like mud soup and crabgrass salad.
