President Donald Trump’s plan to eliminate dozens of federal agencies and programs has collapsed, as a conservative Republican Congress refuses to go along.
Among the programs spared are agencies promoting rural business development and the arts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Community Development Block Grants and the National Wildlife Refuge Fund. Those and many others are getting money in bills approved by the GOP-run House appropriations committee. The House plans to vote on spending bills throughout next week, and the Senate is expected to consider spending plans shortly.
Trump unveiled his $4.1 trillion budget plan in March, pledging to “reduce the federal government to redefine its proper role and promote efficiency.”

I remember when Congress voted down giving Ketchikan, Alaska $400 million for a road from their international airport (on an island) to the city. They now have ferry service that runs when the ferry is full...interesting trying to catch a flight sometimes.
That project was called “bridge to nowhere” and everyone made a big deal about it...Well, at least the money would have been spent on a road—not twisted art that no one would go see or buy without the grant.

I’m guessing the vote will happen in September. Congress also has to vote on raising the debt limit. I don’t know if that will happen before or after the budget bill.

Problem is, any single one of them might not be a big deal, but...a billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon we’re talking real money! (used to be “a million here, a million there”)
This kind of stuff makes me crazy. If we are spending a single dollar on twisted art instead of spending it on honing and practicing watchstanding procedures on US warships (USS Fitzpatrick) or hundreds of thousands of more worthwhile expenditures (of which a “Bridge to Nowhere” or even no expenditure at all would be a better use of money) then it is a single dollar mis-spent!

Last year whenever I said to friends "I'll be damned if I'm voting for Rubio" they say "WHAT!!! If you don't a dem will get his seat".
I'm beginning to think the only way to rid the swamp is to have lots of ABSCAM type stings and arrest the whole bunch of them and start with a clean slate.

My point was two fold—
~There was a thread a couple days ago about a road request in Alaska...Many uninformed brought up the bridge to nowhere as an example, etc...Well, since 90% of Alaska is controlled by Feds, I think Alaska represents a different situation. I do believe a function of the federal government is infrastructure and protecting the border, and a road to the only international (long runway) airport in the region for hundreds of water miles actually made sense for both of the above reasons, and at the time our “conservative congress” made lots of loud noise about cutting it.
~Yet today many of these same Congresstraitors are fighting funding cuts for NPR NEA, and NEH...money that truly is pissed away.
We have squandered so much on people and things that don’t last or matter.

I am quite sure there are MANY outside sources trying to recruit patriots to primary these BASTARDS!!! Money no longer matters as Trump has proven the American people have HAD ENOUGH of these BASTARD RINOS!!! Money can NO LONGER buy the elections the American people are FINALLY AWAKE!!!!!
At some point Trump needs to float the idea of a new party to replace the feckless, me-too, big government, corruption Republican party.
State the Democrat and Republican parties are committed to retaining the corruption and waste, they cannot be changed from within and must go and begin the process of getting together a new political party. There is no saving either party, they are both too far gone.
Are those the same Republicans who scream the Donald Trump is not a true conservative
