GOP trashes Trump’s plan to end dozens of government programs

President Donald Trump’s plan to eliminate dozens of federal agencies and programs has collapsed, as a conservative Republican Congress refuses to go along.

Among the programs spared are agencies promoting rural business development and the arts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Community Development Block Grants and the National Wildlife Refuge Fund. Those and many others are getting money in bills approved by the GOP-run House appropriations committee. The House plans to vote on spending bills throughout next week, and the Senate is expected to consider spending plans shortly.

Trump unveiled his $4.1 trillion budget plan in March, pledging to “reduce the federal government to redefine its proper role and promote efficiency.”

...as a conservative Republican Congress refuses to go along

It is NOT a conservative congress in any way, shape or form. Thw GOP only talks conservative when they want votes from us. The minute they get elected they start supporting big government and stab their voters in the back.

Its time we stop their Cycle of Deceit.

The Republicans are simply the accountants for the nanny-state.

These programs should all be killed. I like some of them, but that does not matter. They are not part of the government’s proper role, and we are very deep in debt.

Always find it crazy that congress in general has terrible numbers as a whole in polls but most elections end up with incumbents retaining their seats.

Here we have a bunch of GOP clowns who somehow can’t seem to find a way to fund a vital border wall, but eagerly fund the communist Democratic propaganda machine NPR?

That’s because they become better liars the longer they are in Washington. It is the only real “skill” that politicians have. They get into office and stay there by lying their asses off.

It galls me that after all these years, our government gives our taxes we are FORCED to pay to the NEA and PBS, both entities which are wholly and fully arms of the Left.

Boy, that makes me madder than Hell.

To me, NPR is a litmus test. I won’t take any Republican seriously until they vote against subsidies for this liberal propaganda machine.

Probably a major trip to DC outside of Congress needs to happen. One like the day the RATs passed Obamacare.

Now we know who our true enemies are.

Oh, we've known for decades now. The Republicans are Democrat-lite - what the Democrats were 20 years ago is what the Republicans are now. Want to see what the Republicans will look like in 20 years? Look at the Democrats right now.

The GOP does not represent small-government principles in any meaningful way. As the Democrats have moved further and further to the left, the Republicans have simply moved into the void of '90s liberalism in their wake. Neither party represents conservatism.

Now-a-days Conservatism means corporate globalism . Keep that free trade going and “conservatives” will go along with anything.

Look at the size of the Fed Gov. Look at the damn VA alone. The VA was never meant to be the plan available to treat every Vet who ever served whether active duty, reserve or NG.
I recall when you had to be Cat 1 to use the VA for anything except a true emergency. Then around the late 90’s to 2002 or so (both Clinton and Bush) I started seeing Category 7’s and 8’s being seen. Now the VA will treat just about anyone who ever served. Look at all the folks on Gov programs now like food stamps, Sec 8, free cell phone, etc. Sad as hell.

From what I read it seems that in general people think their particular elected officials aren’t the problem everyone else’s is.
