Thank God I live in Texas...a place where you have the right to protect your life and property with deadly force. I drove almost 2500 miles in a road trip this summer. When I drove through Chicago on I-80 I made sure to do it at 5:30 AM. I was not going to stop for anything. I was not going to leave the highway for any reason.

Not that unusual. Pretty common for blacks from the south or west sides to take public transportation into northern suburbs (I am specifically speaking of Lincolnwood and Skokie), steal a vehicle, commit some other sort of crime often armed robbery, and flee back to their little hell hole. Depending on the week, there are 4-8 of these every week in Lincolnwood.
Just checked the handgun transport laws due to a family trip - short answer is we’ll never be driving through ILLinois again. They recognize NONE of the other States’ CHL permits, though they will issue you one without further testing if you come from one of four States they like. Residents must have a license to OWN weapons and ammo.
Thinking about it - this is intentional, so only the criminal foot soldiers in the Dem party army are armed.
