Geesh, not too far from where I grew up.
Was the victim a registered Democrat or a decent person
That shooting happened in New York City. Funny how the retired NYPD cop (now a private citizen) was allowed to carry a gun, but the average NYC citizen is not allowed.
Well, maybe it’s not so funny. Paraphrasing George Carlin: It’s a big club, and the average citizen ain’t in it.
I have the best car-jacking defense system.
Standard transmission.
Or the color of the perp.

Federal law has been in existence for 13 years.
President George W. Bush signs H.R. 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004,” which exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from State laws that prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms, Thursday, July 22, 2004.
Not that unusual. Pretty common for blacks from the south or west sides to take public transportation into northern suburbs (I am specifically speaking of Lincolnwood and Skokie), steal a vehicle, commit some other sort of crime often armed robbery, and flee back to their little hell hole. Depending on the week, there are 4-8 of these every week in Lincolnwood.
I’d gun it to the nearest police station. Get in my way? Get run over!
Did you see the movie FREEJACK? It’s an underated 1992 SciFi movie that seems pretty close to Chicago and some other cities today.

I’ve never heard of that law, but it’s a good law. It makes sense. It’s also is more evidence that (if you don’t mind me repeating it):
Its a big club, and the average citizen aint in it.
“He had to stop.”
Nope! Downshift, and rev it up!
I watched a gun tv show yesterday where the shooter fired a duplex round making 2 holes in the target.
I thought it was a pistol but maybe it was a rifle cartridge.
Or shuffle board.
Just checked the handgun transport laws due to a family trip - short answer is we’ll never be driving through ILLinois again. They recognize NONE of the other States’ CHL permits, though they will issue you one without further testing if you come from one of four States they like. Residents must have a license to OWN weapons and ammo.
Thinking about it - this is intentional, so only the criminal foot soldiers in the Dem party army are armed.
...it reminds me of an old tactic...use an old bakery baking pan ( blacken)...place it the down side of a crest in the road...a car runs over it and it makes a hellish noise...if it gets wedge under the car...driver thinks he dropped a muffler or piece of the tail pipe...stops, exits the car to check....perps are usually close by
As the republic matures it’s becoming too much like the UK and elsewhere...the police claim they’re shorthanded and underfunded but have loads of time for thoughtcrime patrols and revenue generation.
They don’t seem to grasp that collars of violent, known, and/or repeat offenders would boost their image in the minds of taxpayers who in turn be more willing to pay up front rather than through stealth taxes like confiscatory traffic fines and court costs.
DARE officers taking their doggies to schools for PR hackery mean that they aren’t patrolling. DUI checkpoints with two dozen officers making a mockery of the 4th and 5th Amendments mean that large swathes of their jurisdictions are left to defend themselves.
If the 2nd Amendment didn’t already exist for political reasons it would need to be enacted for basic personal protection.
It’s amazing that European citizens sneer at gun ownership and consider themselves more civilized even as the brown menace paralyzes their entire nations with fear.
Nice. Makes sense but I admit I hadn’t considered that method before.
“I still like the idea of flame throwers just below the doors.”
These were popular in South Africa where luxury cars were targets of hijackers - especially when stopped at traffic lights. Also, in case the car was actually stolen or hijacked, the owner would have a poisoned bottle of whiskey or such in the glove box. The thief would drink the liquor, get sick and die.
