A Houston man is on the hook for $65,000 in child support for a child that's not his.

Gabriel Cornejo, 45, took a DNA test proving a child his ex-girlfriend had 16 years ago was not his.

The test was too late. In 2003, a child support court in Houston ruled that Cornejo owed his ex-girlfriend child support because, she claims, there was no way he wasn't the father.

It is rare, but they had actually been separated for years and never filed in court. She had the kids but my son took care of them too. Then she had some awful boyfriends and drugs come into the picture, so that’s when my son took her to court, she had no grounds to contest, and he got the kids. She finally straightened out her life and is part of the kid’s life, which I know the kids are thankful to their dad for.
