The fracking process came on line about the same time and stabilized the oil at a price that was not competitive for them.
Doesn’t mean the process is worthless, just got to have the right timing........................

That's the money quote here. Anyone can make a great profit if the government gives you free money (ask Elon Musk). If you have to actually produce something for less than it can sell for, success is quite a bit more difficult.

Everyone thought this was ‘THE’ hot stock to own a few years ago, 2010-11, then Fracking came up and stalled the rise in oil prices. Then Trump won the election and OK’d the pipeline and that was apparently the straw that broke their back...................The technology is viable, just not now..................
I believed that they could produce biodiesel for 1.25@gallon.

I suspect the Chinese will get a hold of it, since they have all the raw materials and very little petroleum.........................
A fat, lazy, big ankled woman who couldn’t stand up more than 30 minutes without collapsing, and who couldn’t beat a lazy first term unknown senator for president or an accomplished Billionaire for president!
Their cost of energy input to the fuel end product, the conversion efficiency input/output, has to be worse than a gas-to-liquids process. The GTL plants also never get built in the US.
