I did not think it would be retired, but revised manifold.
My ‘writing school’ was not a ‘journalist’ school, just either ‘fiction’ or ‘non-fiction’. I chose ‘fiction’, had a smattering of submissions in various first-generation websites, but wrote ‘non-fiction’ for over 6 years in a regional newspaper.
(My being published was the only payment I received, and that was a Gannett paper.)
