I have been wondering if the training the police go through goes too far and is turning some into killers.

The Philando Castile shooting is a similar situation. There is a seminar that the shooting cop Jeronimo Yanez attended called Bulletproof Warrior. From what I understand this program basically asserts that everyone is a threat and should be treated accordingly. I would be very interested to know if this cop attended the same.

I once had 5 officers surround me and draw their guns.

I had that as a teenager. I think I was 15. About 5 of us were hitch-hiking home from a Cat Stevens concert in the mid-70s. Three cop cars with 5 cops screeched up and drew on us, yelling and so forth. After checking us for guns they explained there was a report of shots fired in the bar we happened to be walking past. It was a shack-like building called "The Cowboy Bar" sub-titled "One HELL of a bar!"

After we showed them our ticket stubs they let us go. Later one of the cars passed us hitch-hiking and waved; we waved back. Shortly after that a pickup truck gave us a ride in the back.

I would be happy if he would at least be charged, tried, and convicted. Being a police officer I have little faith that will happen.
