Sunday on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” journalist and network contributor Carl Bernstein said the difference between the investigations into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election and the Watergate era was the country is “in the midst of a cold civil war.”
Bernstein said, “The difference between Watergate and now, one of the big differences is that we are in the midst of a cold civil war in this country, a political and cultural civil war.”
He added that Fox news has created, “a different media universe,” that is “a caldron taking place in this hot house of political debate in which a fact based debate is becoming impossible in this culture.”

I agree with him on this point, but probably not for the reasons he might think.
Facts are the last things the mainstream media has ever wanted to deal with.
If the wrong decisions get made and actions become a soft coup, the civil war could quickly become a hot one.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth seems more apt to the fall of a walled city than a gaggle of media geese whose honks are repeated by other geese in their flocks.

Rush was just talking about this a few minutes ago, and summed it up nicely. Rush stated that what Bernstein is really saying here is that the left is upset that they no longer have a monopoly on what the people hear, and don't hear, on any given issue. With the rise of outlets like Fox News and talk radio, the people now hear both sides of the issues and can make up their own minds, independent of what the left and their allies in the mainstream media want them to think.
That cold civil war has been going on for quite some time.
It’s become more apparent to some because we managed to get past the gatekeepers of the Uniparty and elect someone who values the citizens and the rule of law.
Previously they were able to keep us in check by making sure the GOP always nominated an amnesty candidate.
