Ooooo...been there, done that with shingles and you have my sympathy! I still have nerve damage after 4 years, and I hope you recover from yours quickly!

They are a nightmare!

Thank you! It’s been a month now but I’m no longer in bed 24 hours a day, lol.

A very bizarre illness with almost no idea how to treat it! Even the vaccine doesn’t promise much.

I think the song he played was just an old-fashioned (i.e.: not crossover) country & western tune. So many of the women singers and songwriters wrote “my man done me wrong”. Some of them are wonderful, like “Jolene.”

Time travel to your childhood and insure you contract chicken pox?

I had shingles in 1998. Acyclovir worked really well. Since then, I’ve been taking 1000 mg of L-Lysine every day.

No...and you can’t even have the vaccine if you still have any symptoms of the disease.

It took me forever before I could wear anything that touched me. Lots of loooooooose-fitting things.

Glad you’re beginning to feel better!

The clothing problem is an unbelievable problem - you can’t even leave the house because of it! I found huddling on my side in bed was the only way to survive it. And the vaccine apparently doesn’t prevent it - simply makes it less painful. Yeah, sure.

I’m on some medication that stops seizures but supposedly stops pain. Hardy-har-har!

Oh, I don't know. Cedar shingles are nice. ;-)

Got the vaccine 6 years ago. One of my better choices

I had chicken pox and don’t want to time travel, lol! Getting yelled at by nuns for eight years is not something I would look forward to!

But you can still get the shingles. Hope you don’t; most people don’t get it.

I guess I was misinformed about having chicken pox preventing shingles.

No, it’s actually the cause of Shingles.

NOTHING stops that pain. Calamine lotion did soothe the itching a very little bit, but it doesn’t go away.

And, like you, I stayed in for over a month because I simply couldn’t wear anything that came close to touching me even a bit. Long loose t-shirts were my only dress for that time. Had to go on extended leave from work.

I hope neither of us ever has it again. Where was/is yours? mine was on my left ribcage, front to back. I still have itching and burning when I get hot or stressed...or both LOL....and it’s been 4 years since diagnosed. I HOPE you heal much quicker than that. My hubby had them on his neck and head and they were gone within a couple of months. But were hell on earth when they were active.

~~~~shudder~~~~ [making me itch just to think about it!]
If you HAVEN’T had chicken pox, being around a person with shingles exposes you to chicken pox.
Another little side effect of this “adventure’’.
Didn’t know that! More research needs to be done on this awful disease or whatever it is.
My doctor told me that. Thank goodness I left work the day I felt like something was going on, because there was a woman I worked with who hadn’t had chicken pox. She’d have KILLED me if I had given them to her! LOL...but not “funny” haha.
It is on my side. The pocks have disappeared but the melody of pain lingers on, lol. The worst is that false itching! If you scratch yourself, the pain intensifies! And the creepy crawlies. I’ve been taking sleeping pills to sleep at night. Worried the doc won’t refill.
No, he was disparaging America first closed border proponents as isolationist troglodytes and not "true" conservative. He said the real Trump supporters are the true enemy of the left.
Look deep down he is a Bill Kristol globalist Free Traitor™. He is, he proved it today. F him.
Conservatism without nationalism is not conservative.
