Academics and scholars must be mindful about using research done by only straight, white men, according to two scientists who argued that it oppresses diverse voices and bolsters the status of already privileged and established white male scholars.
Geographers Carrie Mott and Daniel Cockayne argued in a recent paper that doing so also perpetuates what they call white heteromasculinism, which they defined as a system of oppression that benefits only those who are white, male, able-bodied, economically privileged, heterosexual, and cisgendered. (Cisgendered describes people whose gender identity matches their birth sex.)
In their 22-page paper, Citation matters: mobilizing the politics of citation toward a practice of 'conscientious engagement,'" they explained that their work was motivated by shared feelings of discomfort, frustration, and anger over actions of fellow scholars and publication practices.

Sounds a whole lot like Bolsheviks Revolution........maybe it is..(?)
“white heteromasculinism”
Oh boy.. And it’s only Monday.
That's the old white heteromasculine geography. Get with the times..
They have turned plain English into gobbledygook and bullsh!te that reflects the nonsensical content of their "courses".
Why anybody would pay good money for that Leftist indoctrination is beyond me other than it is by force of cultural habit.
...”I think the universuty system has to collapse entirely.”...
The majority of people in this nation, including all the races, know that the American university system has already collapsed and the masses, who are mostly not community organized because they are good and decent people, are afraid to mount a public resistance against it. However, rage is building against what is being done against this culture, and resistance is just beneath the surface. White people are still the majority race here for now and the majority of them do not take kindly to a future of brutality and discrimination which is being promoted against their children. It is those who want to steal what white people have built through blood, sweat and tears, who are behind this attempted coup. It might succeed for a short time but it is so far against nature that it will not stand. The revolutionaries usually do not end up being the ruling class for long and the past tells us that, generally, their defeat is not pretty.
Of course they won't, because they're hypocrites.
Small world. I had an interview at the University of Dayton Research Institute once. I know the department head I would have worked for wanted to hire me. The woman I would have replaced had other ideas. Shortly after that I designed the first generation large scale thermo-acoustic test chamber for the Air Force in testing of hypersonic materials. UDRI was ranked third among all colleges in the nation for sponsored materials research. So I guess they indirectly worked for me after that, lol.

Your post suggests the WaPo plagiarized the article from a campus reform writer.
I can’t find any such article at Campus Reform.
Help please.
CARRIE MOTT
I concentrated on the provable value of their work
what in the world were you thinking...?
“CARRIE MOTT”
Star Wars bar scene material.
Those who cannot do, teach.
not too long ago, I made a comment on FB about underpaid teachers, to the effect that factoring in a work year of nine months they weren’t doing too bad...based on the response I got, you’d have thought I was advocating sticking scissors into the brains of children as they were being born...
What’s needed here is a day without straight white males. Imagine what that would be like.
it would be like watching almost any pro sport today...
Liberalism = System of Oppression
Geography is a discipline that long ago lost its way. In the nineteen seventies Geography departments were eliminated in Ivy League schools. The reason: They could not decide whether they appertained to the physical or social sciences. In reality their value was in the melding of both to provide very comprehensive area studies courses. In the nineteen eighties it further skewed when many departments followed a U. of Washington curriculum that was the antithesis of area studies. By the year 2000 most department were captured by fanatical environmentalists. Now the discipline, if you can call it that, is the home of womyn who really should have taken a degree in Wikkan studies. In sum, the giants who made the discipline are long gone and the pygmies are in charge.
