Not only would Dems not agree to declare McCain’s seat vacant, I don’t believe it has EVER been done to a Senator or House member due to a medical condition.

Listening to Laura’s guest host from Powerline that is talking about how hard it is for a sitting Senator to retire even when it’s medically impossible for them to do their job.

Gave the prime example of Arlen Spector who in his 80s was going to be primaried by Pat Toomey, Arlen switched parties and ran as the dim candidate and lost.

Robert Bird, in his 90s, couldn’t walk and had to be carried in to the Senate for votes.

McPain, who as you pointed out has NO character, fits right in with these selfish, power-hungry old farts.

Not only Politician but other professions also had same problem. My uncle who was a Professor in well reputed Univ. He was 83 yrs old, hearing problem, can’t climb stairs, memory issue etc, but insisted to stay at his job, just to settle scores in Univ. Univ tried everything, but finally his stroke and we started making fun of his rigidness forced him to retire at the age of 83. He is one vicious/vindictive relative I have. And these character exist in every profession.
