U.S. Senator John McCain will remain in Arizona next week to recuperate from a medical procedure that removed a 2-inch (5-cm) blood clot above his left eye, his office announced in a statement on Saturday.
It was unclear how McCain's absence might affect a crucial Senate vote on legislation to dismantle and replace Obamacare, with Republicans so divided that the absence of a single "yes" vote could doom the healthcare bill.

He had a melanoma removed from his left temple that was pretty deep. But that was a while ago so I don't know if the two are related.
“Craniotomy” implies that it was inside his skull. “Two inches” could mean that it was 2” long and 1/8” in diameter. Of course my first suspicion is that it was a sphere, 2” in diameter!

Ahh...the 2-inch blood clot was not removed from “above his left eye”; it was removed from his brain (that is what craniotomy surgery is).
This explains the series of strange speech patterns he has had recently which appeared to me to be symptomatic of mini-stokes. I’m surprised it took his doctors so long to figure it out!
I know Rand means well but does he ever move the ball in the right direction? He’s just a perpetual complainer. His complaints are valid to be sure but ultimately he doesn’t solve the problem nor does he make it even remotely better.

I agree. It is also true that melanoma (invasive) can be treated and lay “dormant” for these 17 years only to rear its ugly head and raging. It is extrely unpredictable in it return and its agression, The pathology report should give a clue. Yes, it it was s thrombus, but why was the clot there? Trauma, melanoma, diabetes,.....the voters have a right to now.

I have multiple individuals whom I “pray for their demise” on a daily basis. Ryan and McConnell are at the top of my list.
Before I heard the reason for the surgery I thought that he had gotten hes head so far up his a$$ that it had to be surgically removed......

I'm just wondering whether removing this blood clot will help improve McCain's cranial-rectal inversion.
