He passed on the information to fellow members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee as well as to the Treasury Department, which handles issues pertaining to international sanctions. Rohrabacher didn't just file the information away. He circulated a summary of the document making the pro-Kremlin case to lawmakers. He said he got lobbied on the Magnitsky issue at a dinner also attended by Veselnetskaya.....

As a congressman he does not have to report anything. He can notify people if he thinks it will make him look sketchy but congressman can meet with anyone.

Maybe not. But it seems terminally stupid to meet with Russians bearing “dirty” gifts. Manafort really should have known better. The KGB trained its agents to be experts at bait-and-switch entrapment, and if you fall for one of their ploys, you may not find out until too late about their real motives.

I still want to know if anyone’s been able to show any conclusive proof that this “Kremlin-linked lawyer” has any actual connection to the Russian government. There’s been lots of speculation, innuendo and accusations but I still haven’t seen any facts to corroborate it. And Veselnitskaya denies working for the Russian government, or having done so in the past.

Once again it looks like the media taking liberties with the narrative and the truth is suffering. If I’m wrong, I’d love to know.
