Anti-Semitism Is Creeping Into Progressivism

Last weekend, organizers of a gay pride parade in Chicago ejected three people carrying pride flags emblazoned with a Jewish Star of David. Subsequent bizarre statements attempting to rationalize their action, claiming that Zionism is “an inherently white supremacist ideology” only exacerbated the sense that the organizers were deaf to the concerns of the Jewish community and engaged in anti-Semitism — denying Jews the same rights that were extended to other participants, basically to celebrate their identities as Jewish queer women.

While this incident could be dismissed as one fringe group in one city, the fact is that it does represent a wider school of thought that is fueling a trend of creeping anti-Semitism among some segments of the political left.

Over the past year, we have seen other examples that have raised eyebrows as intersectional intolerance has sprung up among the progressive community. Similar stories to the one in Chicago were reported at the Celebrate Israel Parade in New York City earlier this month.

Last summer, a plank in the platform of the Movement for Black Lives bizarrely accused Israel of genocide.

Linda Sarsour, a leader of the women’s rights movement, has lambasted Zionism as incompatible with feminism and advocates for the exclusion of pro-Israel Jews from activist groups.

Since I became aware of this many years ago, I have found it one of the most baffling and disturbing aspects of the Left.

I know Leftists live constantly with an enormous amount of cognitive dissonance in their minds (which explains their bizarre and seemingly unhinged behavior at times) but this one takes the cake for me.

Baffling because it seems to be driven by self hate in some odd way, and disturbing, because there are many leftists who accept it, but for them it is the price they feel they have to pay to be part of the Left.

Why, I don’t know, but it has always seemed that way to me.

The Jewish genes are naturally entrepreneurial. The progressives have genes pushing into equality for all regardless of merit or work effort. Progressives hate meritocracy. Progressives have no problem with lazy people.

...cannot be part of the same party. The DNC has imploded and while they try to realign all of these fractures will expose them. The Jews need to figure out that the anti-white-straight-male-Christian is now the enemy of the DNC and they’re next in line. Gays and feminists are below Muslims but also don’t yet realize it. It’s astonishing that any Jews still vote Democrat.
