WASHINGTON, July 10 (Reuters) - The American Civil Liberties Union on Monday said it had filed a lawsuit against U.S. President Donald Trump's election commission, saying it had failed to follow federal law governing public access and transparency for such advisory groups.
The ACLU said in a statement that the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity had already held its first meeting without giving any notice or opening it to the public, and that its upcoming meeting would only be available via webcast.
The commission last week said it would meet on July 19 in Washington near the White House.
Representatives for the White House did not be immediately respond to a request for comment.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, alleges violations of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, which seeks to ensure transparent government operations.
"This process is cloaked in secrecy, raising serious concerns about its credibility and intent. What are they trying to hide? Theresa Lee, a staff attorney with the ACLUs Voting Rights Project, said in the statement.

I wish there were a way to put the ACLU out of business, our business.
The ACLU is at Defcon 5. Can’t suppress illegal voting. That would be racist.
ACLU= American Criminal Loser Union
The DemonRats GLARING hipocracy:

Theresa Lee = sock puppet for left-wing wackos.
Trump needs to instruct the DOJ to drive a Mack Truck through the Clinton Foundation and the Comey-Muller connections
The only way to break an ambush is to attack directly into it
I know of not one case for which the ACLU defended anything American. One would think the election fraud which disenfranchises millions of Americans would be a good case for the ACLU but since it’s a Republican President, they can care less. They are all a bunch of POS Commies.
ACLU hates that they can’t head off the commission to hide their illegal voting practices.
I still roll it over it in my head and can't believe our good fortune - Donald Trump is president and is performing as good or better then we expected.
This beginning of the process to update the voter rolls , with the deportation of illegals and president Trumps agenda more and more gets implemented 2018 is going to be a very interesting election.
Its going to be like why weren't we doing this for a long time. I remember president Trump talking about it on 60 minutes in 80s when I was a kid maybe it was Opera. Yikes that was a long time ago but it stuck with me.
You can bet the commie libs down at the Anti Civil Liberties Union would love to flood this commission with their commie ‘RAT comrades.
When the LA Times (and many others on the Left) starts whining, you know you’re nearing pay-dirt.
They know. They’ve known it since the 90s.
When Dornan lost his seat in Congress by about 1200 votes, hundreds were found to be fraudulent. Illegal aliens were voting, registered by Himandad Nacional, the entity in California that was authorized to educate aliens for their citizenship testing.
At that time Congress could have called a special election. The rule is, if ANY voting irregularities are found, it’s grounds for them to call a special election. Of course, they didn’t.
The Republicans were in the majority at the time too.
Hermandad Nacional was fined, but I’m not sure they every paid the fine.
Our side has been complicit in this situation, BIG TIME. It always goes against us too. U N I P A R T Y
Wrong order. Thanks.
