Turkey Retreats From Paris Climate Treaty…
Conservative Tree House ^ | 7-9-2017 | Sundance

Posted on 07/10/2017 8:06:41 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan admits the only reason for being in the Paris Climate Treaty was to get money from the U.S. and other more wealthy nations.  Now that the U.S. has pulled out of the treaty, there’s no reason to expect the financial benefits.

Proving yet again, for the eleventyth time, that the entire construct of the Paris Climate Treaty had nothing to do with the actual climate (ie. weather), and everything to do with economic wealth distribution.

(Reuters)  The U.S. decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement means Turkey is less inclined to ratify the deal because the U.S. move jeopardizes compensation promised to developing countries, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday.

.......

Erdogan said that when Turkey signed the accord France had promised that Turkey would be eligible for compensation for some of the financial costs of compliance.

The others are still talking up the Paris Accord but they know it is dead. They just don’t want it to be obvious that it was all about the money.

Even though that fig leaf was never very big.

Now that President Trump has done the right thing for America, there is no US money trough for the other countries to stick there snout in.

A simple search on Wiki: (ref here)

(excerpt)

Parties and signatories

As of December 2016, 194 states and the European Union have signed the Agreement. 153 of those parties have ratified or acceded to the Agreement, most notably China, the United States (who is intent on leaving) and India, the countries with three of the four largest greenhouse gas emissions of the signatories' total (about 42% together).[1][64][65]

..... (more excerpt)

Non-signatories

The following UNFCCC member states were entitled to sign the Paris Agreement but did not do so prior to its close for signature on 21 April 2017. These states can now accede to the treaty. The Holy See is an observer state of the UNFCCC and can accede to the Paris Agreement if it first joins the UNFCC.

I.e.,

Nicaragua, Syria, and the Holy See. (end excerpt)

I guess according to the Wiki entry, United States either 'ratified (not true, iirc) or acceded to the Agreement'. I seemed to read (also on CTH by sundance) that so far United States is the only one paid money (by Obama admin) to be redistributed.

42 have signed and not ratified. Most of those are holding out for more loot for them or less cost to them.

“Today’s narrative is that Trump was isolated at the G20 on all issues, especially climate change.”

Trump managed to avoid the bleeting of the sheep.
