Just hours after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied its most recent challenge to the Trump travel ban, the state of Hawaii filed yet another motion challenging it in federal court:
In its June 26 decision, the Supreme Court let stand the temporary travel and refugee ban contained in that executive order but added that the ban would not apply to refugees and visa applicants with a bona fide relationship to an American resident.
The Trump administration quickly defined bona fide relationship as parent, child, sibling, spouse or fiance. The state of Hawaii wants a broader definition that would include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and possibly more distant relations.

FR really needs to improve its search function. (Notice poster I am not complaining about you)
The information in this article has been previously posted but the search a hard time finding it. The problem is compounded by truncated titles and posters adding “Breaking” or “Bombshell” in front of the actual title. We also run into problems when different sources report basically the same information.
One trick when searching for previous postings is to search using only 1 important word of the title. Doing this you often find essentially the same information already posted from another source.
For example: Try searching using just the word “Hawaii” for this article and you get an earlier version of the article from a different source.
At what point are these legal challenges deemed frivolous, and the State fined for their harassing behavior?
There is a decided carrion-like Obama stench to this.
How about we're all related to Adam & Eve? Good grief.
Time to cut Hawaii loose. Free the islands from their moorings. Put a tracker on them so we know to whence they drift, and hope their population doesn’t grow to the point they tip over.
What I mean is in these countries already that have vetting issues, almost anyone could claim to be someones 2nd nephew twice removed on the mothers side. There’s just no way to deny a claim from Hawaii’s perspective.
I am related to Adam, but not Eve.
Hawaii is right that the definition of close relative was not properly defined. But, the alternative is not as they say, but just the opposite.
it should have been defined to parent/child and that proven by genetic testing. Nobody else!
The Muslim and other African immigrant “culture” is to call hundreds of people in one’s friendship circle, “Granny,” or “My Uncle,” “My Sister,” “My Brother,” “My Cousin.” I have witnessed one domestic worker have three “grandma’s” die in the course of four years. It is a cultural thing to call people by terms suggesting they are blood relatives, when they are not. The court order is undermining the possibility of a decent result to say it’s ok to let in grandparents and uncles.
Fraud in immigration has been rampant. People marry a U.S. citizen as a contract only kind of thing, signed, sealed and paid for. Not a real marriage. This is already as common as common can be. Multiple social security numbers and multiple identities, too. Each of these identifies can get other illegals into the system through multiple marriages. Those that do they are quoted as saying, “it’s not a problem. the government will never know the difference.”
The only relatives that should be allowed to come are first degree relatives - proven by a DNA test - parents and children. Tough love. Given how many spouses and siblings and aunts and uncles and grandparents each of them have and don’t mind having in exchange for money, one can’t allow “spouses.” Most of the time they are not really spouses and not real sisters and brothers.
I am all for lifting the ban for the state of Hawaii. Anyone who wants to travel in from those countries can come to Hawaii.
Please don’t mistake this ONE MORON , the appointed Attorney General , by the first term dimwit Governor , for HAWAII .
This Seattle punk lawyer does NOT speak for Hawaii , even though he thinks he can . Piss on him .
I encourage ALL FREEPERS to write or call the Governor of Hawaii , David Ige , and request that he fire this pinhead , Doug Chin .
CONTACT GOVERNOR IGE :

Let’s see if we can send him out of town on a rail of shame . He deserves it .
It is as if these challenges to the acts of President Trump are being made on the basis of willful misunderstanding of the very plain words of the executive orders. Repeated refusal to allow even a cursory explanation of the intent of the words as to the merits of the argument, and to consider only that the person who speaks the words is somehow not legitimate or is simply in disagreement with the “conventional wisdom” (whatever that is). No dialogue is even considered or allowed.
Ignorance is one thing. Contrarian responses for the purpose of only being contrary, without explanation or justification, have no place in intelligent discussion.
Good to hear it’s only one idiot on the islands promoting this. I thought maybe everyone out there was whacked out from breathing all those volcanic fumes. /S
Actually, it was decided properly and acted on correctly.
If SCOTUS were to define the proper relationships, it would have been akin to Legislating from the bench.
Although it was certainly needed at one time do we *really* need Hawaii as a military base today??? If not let’s cut them loose.Let them print their own food stamps...build their own transgender surgery clinics....determine their own immigration policies.
It’s time to rescind Hawaii’s statehood and turn it back into a US territory until they know how to behave.
Governor...your state's despicable effort to allow medieval terrorists free access to this nation has strengthened my family's resolve never to set foot in your state again or to buy products from Hawaii.Vacationing in Florida and buying Brazilian pineapples works just fine for us!
I included my real name and e-mail address. It'll be interesting to what reply,if any,I get.
Good job!
Carpet Bomb the idiots!
