Imposter Mayor
City Journal ^ | 7 Jul 2017 | Seth Barron

Mayor de Blasio made a surprise departure from New York City yesterday—just one day after the assassination of NYPD officer Miosotis Familia while she guarded a violence-plagued Bronx corner—in order to attend anti-capitalist protests in Hamburg, site of the G-20 summit. A few hours after de Blasio’s plane departed, a train derailed in Penn Station, where extensive track work is scheduled to begin this weekend. It was the third derailment at Penn since March; the incidents have become so commonplace that New Jersey Transit commuters reportedly showed little surprise when their train car slid off the track.

The mayor has indulged his inflated sense of his own importance before: he loves to attend summits, conferences, rallies, and protests where he can pontificate about inequality. He particularly enjoys hobnobbing with international mayors. Soon after his inauguration, de Blasio met Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo and burbled about their common goals. “It’s absolutely amazing by the way, 3,000 miles apart, we have come up with such a similar vision of what our cities need,” said de Blasio. “What we want to do now is constantly communicate as we implement this vision and help each other figure out what’s working and what’s not.”

deblasio doesn’t care about New York. He is really interested in becoming the head of the new anarchy movement and leading the USA and the world into atheistic socialism.

NYC is a stepping stone for him. He cares about making the USA communist. He will run for president in 2020.

I hope he does run for President, and gets the nomination. It would be a disaster for Dems.

Democrats in N.Y. will vote for anything that has a D after its name......they have elected more weirdos than anywhere except L.A. Calif. or maybe Frisco.

leftists in leadership positions have long proved they only care about their own easy living before anything else. They are quick to tell others how to live, they just don’t include themselves, their families and friends in the dictates.

Mayor Blasio’s having a (D) after his name protects him from the press blistering him as they would an (R) mayor. A Republican mayor disrespecting a policewoman of color in such a way would be accused of bigotry and sexism.

Blasio gets a pass.

The article mentions “free suntan lotion at city beaches”.

Do New York City beaches really have free suntan lotion?

Rudy and Bloomberg were Democrats?

Republicans controlled NYC for 20 years.

The only reason De Blasio won is because of low voter turnout and his GOP opponent was a disaster.

Even Bloomberg kept most of Rudy's policies, and still supported the police.

I didn’t think it was possible for the NYPD to hate him even more but I’ve been proven wrong.

BTW, for those speculating that he has national ambitions I should point out that no Mayor of NYC has ever gone on to higher office.

DeBlahBlahBlah is running for president.
He’d going to run as a Bernie or even further left.
Count on it.

But a NYC police commissioner did go on to the Presidency.

It’s a pass, yes, but one approved by the people of NYC.
