Changing what you call something does not change it's nature. Spent time in the Corps? It is a cover to a Marine just like the place he pisses is a head. Just because you are a civilian doesn't change the nature of things that are used by Marines. Heads existed long before toilets.

Anyone with personal experience, or with family in the Navy or the Corps knows the proper name for these things; likewise with the other branches.
The military has time-honored words for objects; it brings uniformity, which is crucial in battle. For civilians to double-down on hubris-inspiried expectations that they can or should be called something else is dishonorable.
