Senators Complain They Don’t Know What The Words In The Constitution Mean

Filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi said that several U.S. senators complained they couldn’t understand the words in the Constitution in a Tuesday interview.

The daughter to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelos filmed several senators, former presidents, and other officials reciting the Constitution for her upcoming documentary, “The Words That Built America.”

“A lot of the senators complained that they didn’t know what the words [in the Constitution] meant,” Pelosi said, according to AXIOS. “Let’s face it: the words are dated. Not to Ted Cruz. To him, it’s poetry. He just went for it.”

Cruz’s 2012 Senate run centered on “upholding the rule of law and preserving the Constitution,” according to the campaign’s website.

The report didn’t list the senators that read the constitution, but the promotional video published by HBO show’s Sens. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, Tim Scott of South Carolina, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, John McCain of Arizona, Ted Cruz of Texas, Kamala Harris of California, and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

Pelosi also told AXIOS that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan was her two sons’ favorite speaker of the house, an awkward revelation given the fact that her mother carried the gavel before Republicans gained control of the lower chamber of Congress.

The filmmaker has a history working with high-profile politicians. She worked as a producer for NBC on George W. Bush’s campaign plane and worked with HBO ten other times on politics-related projects

So if someone set up a slave plantation in their state....they aren’t going to know that it’s UNCONSTITUTIONAL?!

Well then, I would submit that no individuals be allowed to run for public office unless they can pass a 12th-grade vocabulary test. Simpletons!

An example here: United States Senate Rules and Procedures:

" Quorum

Article I, section 5 of the Constitution requires that a quorum (51 senators) be present for the Senate to conduct business. Often, fewer than 51 senators are present on the floor, but the Senate presumes a quorum unless a roll call vote or quorum call suggests otherwise. "

You can see it all the time on CSPAN. Bob Dole was involved in the practice. I called his office about it and was told Senate rules supercede the U. S. Constitution!

“Let’s face it: the words are dated..."

"mule fritters!"
"monkey muffins!"
"buffalo bagels!"
"buffalo chips!"
"pigeon pellets!"
"pony pucks!"
"beaver biscuits!
"cow cookies!"
"bull cookies!"
"pig feathers!"
"road apples!"

"Shall not be infringed"
"Congress shall make no law"

All of the above are clearly understood in any educated sphere of society.

“Well Regulated”- I nominate those words as the most misunderstood phrase in the Constitution.

Shouldn’t surprise anyone. These Senators have never read the Constitution.

While living in the SF area, I sat next to the Pelosi’s at niner games for many years (before she was speaker), Alexandria was actually very nice and friendly, as was her father.

Another vicious assault on the constitution. The constitution being obviously outdated, it’s time do do away with.

Not too surprising since former President Clinton did not know the meaning of “is”!

Regulated as used in watchmaking (horology). It means to keep time and be accurate. Gives a whole “new” understanding to “A well regulated militia being necessary to a free state”. That means they could march in time and hit their targets. I am able to educate people in the use of this word daily as I own and operate a small jewelry store. I work on watches daily and I have open carried a nickel plated, pearl handled 1911 daily for almost 30 years. The locals know I’m a patriotic, outspoken Christian, gun toting hillbilly and I discuss our Founders constantly. I’ll give you an example, I’m from a county in Kentucky that was given to a preacher for his service in the Continental Army. See my tagline.

99.9% of today’s Politicians can’t even comprehend four simple words, “Shall Not Be Infringed”.

How does anyone expect them to have the attention span to read, much less understand the Document they swore an Oath to Protect and Defend?
