Coming from Brooklyn, the one thing I wanted in my hot dogs was that “snap” when you bit into ‘em. The skinless dogs just aren’t the same to me.
I don't care for beef hotdogs. I prefer the ones made from a mixture of pork, beef and chicken. I grew up in Rochester, NY, and we ate the local dogs made by Zweigle's. They make a variety of hot dogs and sausages, including Pop-Open White Hots (pork), Pop-Open Red Hots, along with their Texas Brand skinless hotdogs. I make my own hot sauce from a recipe used by Don & Bob's, which was a well-known landmark restaurant in the Rochester area.
