Republicans grow increasingly anxious about heading home without a health-care plan
The Washington Post | June 30, 2017 | https://www.washingtonpost.com/people/sean-sullivan/

Posted on 06/30/2017 1:47:02 PM PDT by be-baw

The dispute within the Republican Party over health care widened further Friday, as President Trump joined with a handful of conservative senators in calling for an outright repeal of the Affordable Care Act if the party fails to agree on an alternative plan by the end of the July Fourth recess.

The reemergence of what has for much of the year been a fringe idea within the GOP revealed not only the party’s philosophical divide over Obamacare, but also senators’ growing anxiety that they’re now headed home to see their constituents with little to show for it.

The Republicans have no damned business passing a health care plan.

Repeal Obamacare and go home. Period.

Are we to believe WaPo - a Whale of Poo? Not usually, but maybe here because the GOP is generally clueless about healthcare as with so many things.

The RIGHT healthcare plan:

THE FREE MARKET ECONOMY

First, since the Constitution gives the feds NO authorization to meddle in people's healthcare, federal interference in healthcare is patently unconstitutional. SOCIALIZED MEDICINE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Second, as with all other unconstitutional federal acts, which are acts of tyranny, the feds just muck healthcare up as they have since the 60's. GET THE FEDS OUT OF HEALTCARE.

They ought to be afraid of the voters. They have accomplished very little and blocked or frustrated much.

They may return to DC with fewer gonads than they have already.

Wapo says there is a philosophical divide in the GOP about Obamacare? I don’t think so I think the GOP like most other people are entirely convinced that Obamacare has to go.

The article stated ....President Trump joined with a handful of conservative senators in ‘calling for an outright repeal of the Affordable Care Act’... if the party fails to agree on an alternative plan by the end of the July Fourth recess.

That's right....end the dang thing. No matter what they do it'll still be a revision of Obamacare. Why they even attempted to “fix” something un-fixable is beside me. The only conclusion I've reached is they weren't the least prepared to do what they all claimed they would over a year ago..and most 8 years ago....it's not like they haven't had time!..It's they weren't at all prepared.

All this political posturing is just that...and they are fools if they think we can't see through it!

Yup, it ain’t rocket science. Kill it, allow shopping across state line, tax deductions for HSAs, and limit excessive lawsuits. These assholes in Congress want to micromanage peoples’ lives.

If you can’t fix it, and you’re coming home having done nothing, at least repeal it and come home with a pocket full of we love you nothing.

Just terminate the ACA as a start. And then come back again to pull away the other government-imposed distortions on the market.

Not too tough really.
