California and Virginia on Thursday refused to comply with a request from President Donald Trumps voter fraud commission to provide personal information about registered voters.
California Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement that Trumps voter fraud commissions request of personal voting data on every American voter is a waste of taxpayer money that aims to ratify a false claim that millions voted illegally. Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe called the probe politically motivated and silly.
California, which had more than 19.4 million registered voters as of February, was the first state to announce it will not comply with the commissions request. Virginia soon followed. Trumps commission on Wednesday asked all states to provide personal information about registered voters. Trump has claimed, without evidence, that millions voted illegally in last years presidential election.
″I will not provide sensitive voter information to a commission that has already inaccurately passed judgment that millions of Californians voted illegally, Padilla said.

Fine.
If you don’t comply you lose all federal highway funding.
Then their votes in federal elections can be void. Fine with me.
Tells you all you need to know.
I wonder what the open records laws are like in these states? I would think that voter registration info, at least to some degree, is public record.
“without evidence” is Fake News’s latest modifier.
Well, that took about 30 minutes from start to finish, didn’t it?
Jerks.
They sure do fight the truth finding on this issue they say is absurd.
....Trump has claimed, without evidence, that millions voted illegally in last years presidential election...
Democrats have claimed, without evidence, that DJT “colluded” with Russia and are spending millions in an open ended “investigation” that they know is BS.
The rules are always different for Democrats.
“I am not a crook, and you can’t see my records!”
Gee, the media has it’s job cut out for it to make these guys look good.
But that’s what the media’s there for... according to the media.
Its like a suspected criminal that refuses to give his DNA
I wonder if “True the Vote” can shake loose this information using freedom of Information lawsuits?
California is about to lose a lot of federal dollars as soon as the Senate passes the Sanctuary City bill. I look forward to it.
California nearly single-handedly elected Hillary Clinton to POTUS. Not surprisd that they would balk at cooperating with voter fraud investigation.
Virginia has been trending leftward for some time. Perhaps in proportion to the voter fraud there?
Appoint a special prosecutor
Two states with the highest potential to expose massive voter fraud. Nothing to see here folks. Keep moving.
Excerpts ...
As the Commission begins it work, I invite you to contribute your views and recommendations throughout this process. In particular:
- What changes, if any, to federal election laws would you recommend to enhance the integrity of federal elections?
- How can the Commission support state and local election administrators with regard to information technology security and vulnerabilities?
- What laws, policies, or other issues hinder your ability to ensure the integrity of elections you administer?
- What evidence or information do you have regarding instances of voter fraud or registration fraud in your state?
- What convictions for election-related crimes have occurred in your state since the November 2000 federal election?
- What recommendations do you have for preventing voter intimidation or disenfranchisement?
- What other issues do you believe the Commission should consider?
In addition, in order for the Commission to fully analyze vulnerabilities and issues related to voter registration and voting, I am requesting that you provide to the Commission the publicly-available voter roll data ...
Consider the absurdity of a state government PROMINENTLY refusing to supply publicly-available information.
If we love our country as much as we say we do, California will also lose a lot of tourist and vacation dollars, too.
Because it happened there. Why are we not surprised?
