University of Maryland campus police launched an investigation into a discarded piece of plastic wrap Tuesday after receiving a report about a possible hate-bias incident.
Out of an abundance of concern, we are looking into this matter and conducting a review of our cameras in the area, the department informed students via email, though The Diamondback reports that some students were upset when officers initially dismissed the object as garbage.

University of Maryland Campus police immediately launch into an investigation of a hate crime.
TRIGGER!!!!!
Garbage by any other name wouldst smell as sweet.
Yeah, only >those< kinds of people use plastic wrap and we know who they are.
When the “cause” is simply power and destroying the other then all ways and means are legitimate. Good means and bad means are only distinguished by their utility or inutility.
I can’t imagine living in fear of EVERYTHING like some people seem to. I’m sure there’s a psych condition for it (a “phobia” if not a more serious condition) and a lot of “community organizers” and parents have intentionally inflicted this illness on so many children.

Campus police. That might be a big clue right there.
Knots are naughty now.
I find bottles, cans, fast food debris along the road in my yard. I consider it all a hate crime. I hate it, my mower hates it, everyone hates it except the low IQ types who use a roadside for storing their trash.
Leaving the WalMart bag by the trash must mean... you hate black people with EBT cards!!!
TRIGGERED!!!!
Probably a hoax. It’s plastic wrap rolled up and tied into a slip knot. I guess to give the guise of a noose.
Knots, loops, and lengths of flexible material should all be banned. Sailing is a hate crime.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. In all likelihood a bunch of snowflakes looking to get offended for the sake of getting offended. This mindset is like emotional meth. They may have a temporary feeling of “empowerment” a short term sense of moral superiority, but once they come down from that high the need for the next “fix” becomes progressively more insatiable. What a pathetic self destructive way to go through life.
Yeap, everyone needs to have velcro shoes. No more shoe laces. Can’t have people tying the knots on the laces to resemble 2 nooses.
Out of an abundance of concern,” = an abundance of dumbass!
and I thought my neighbor, the Evergreen State College, was wacky!
It was apparently used to wrap a sandwich made with white bread.
I'm more triggered than you are.
