Fueled by one of the worlds largest tourism industries, Nevada is preparing to do the same on July 1. A May report published by Gov. Brian Sandovals task force on marijuana estimates that up to 63 percent of recreational buyers will be tourists.
Everything we know shows that millennials are very pro-marijuana, and thats the new marketing push, said Nevada state Sen. Tick Segerblom, a longtime marijuana advocate. This is a game-changer for Las Vegas and tourism here as far as Im concerned.
Amsterdam on steroids, he added.

I thought Nevada had rejected legalization back on the November ballot?
Oh no. Pushed to passage by Clark and Washoe counties.
I’ve been to Colorado a few times to visit my son, his wife and my grandson, since pot was legalized there. I visited different dispensaries on each trip out and it’s nice being able to purchase and enjoy weed without worrying about getting busted. It’s about time!
I would say look to Colorado and study their stats. They have had a few years to deal with those issues.
Sad and pathetic.
You are, nay, have, destroyed this great country.
As if the Las Vegas Strip weren’t enough of a place for decent folks to avoid. This ought to seal the deal.
That should release inhibitions to triple the gambling and loss of homes/credit/cars, etc by the mathematically challenged.
I served this great country! You drug warriors are much like those who supported Prohibition back in the 1920s-early 30s, stomping all over the Constitution in your quest to "purify" America from the "evils" of alcohol and weed, wrapping yourself in the flag while persecuting fellow Americans.
Nope, folks voted for recreational last fall. Should be a booming business very soon I would think.
Soon as I retire, I'll join you!
>You are, nay, have, destroyed this great country.<
The tears of loser drug warriors tastes so sweet.
“You are, nay, have, destroyed this great country.”
ROTLF. What a load of bullshit.
Methinks you don’t actually know what you’re talking about.
Casinos will love it!
I lived in Denver from 1980-83 and loved life in Colorado, even before weed was legal. I met my wife there and we got married. We moved back east to be closer to her family. Since our son, daughter in law and grandson are living there now, we've visited three times, the last time with his older brother and sister and their spouses. Since that trip, we've all been talking about moving there, all of us. I can do it when I retire in a few years. My daughter is lining things up things for work so she can do it and my older son can go anywhere and find work as he's a building maintenance mechanic. Unfortunately, my wife died recently, succumbing to cancer after a long fight. She still going to come with me though and I'll bring her ashes to be buried when I move out to Colorado in 2021. We ought to get together, Drew68!
Let the market - not the Big Government nannies - decide.
The mob still has plenty of power
“That should release inhibitions to triple the gambling and loss of homes/credit/cars, etc by the mathematically challenged.”
That’s what drinking alcohol does & is why casino’s don’t charge gamblers for their booze. Cannabis doesn’t have the same effect in diminishing one’s inhibitions or moral compass like alcohol does.
You, sir or madam, are no damn different than the Taliban or ISIS.... you just want YOUR religious/moral standards to rule.
You, and your ilk, are just as dangerous to a Free Republic and Liberty, as the idiot snowflake socialists are.
