Fueled by one of the world’s largest tourism industries, Nevada is preparing to do the same on July 1. A May report published by Gov. Brian Sandoval’s task force on marijuana estimates that up to 63 percent of recreational buyers will be tourists.
“Everything we know shows that millennials are very pro-marijuana, and that’s the new marketing push,” said Nevada state Sen. Tick Segerblom, a longtime marijuana advocate. “This is a game-changer for Las Vegas and tourism here as far as I’m concerned.”
“Amsterdam on steroids,” he added.

90% of visitors to Vegas are from California, and everyone knows those folks never brought their own weed with them.
The supposed boon for pot shops in Vegas will be far less than anticipated.
And nothing else in Las Vegas will change one iota.

No doubt that if there were a sign on the 15 or 80 as you near the border stating MJ is illegal, a lot of those folks simply turned around and went home. Right?

Thanks. I won’t bring it then. I can live without for a few nights. I use it for migraine frequency prevention and it took several months but then it clearly started greatly reducing the number of times I need to take a migraine drug.
It must be easy for a drug dog to sniff out CBD oil in checked or carry on I assume. I don’t want any trouble with the po lice.

Not sure about that. Alcohol tends to make people overconfident and oblivious to how much money they’re losing. Stoned gamblers will end up sitting at the machines like statues, utterly fascinated by all pretty lights. A lot of them will forget why they’re in Vegas and stay in their rooms with the deadbolt and chain lock at. On the other hand, the restaurants, buffets, and snack vendors will do well.

It’s certainly caused issues in Colorado. My formerly conservative state has become whacked out liberal and now a magnet for recreational drug users. I barely recognize it anymore
